Creating live sets.

Post by trommis »

When I make a new live set, I choose the sounds I want and make the splits and layers that I need for this set. Then I save it as a live set in a free program number. When I play the live set, tones/splits/layers all work as intended, but all effects are gone. The sound is totally "dry"! What am I doing wrong here? Any suggestions/walktrough?

Are you getting the "Warning" window saying "Edited Patch… will be discarded. Are you sure?"

PFX's are part of the Patch. If you edit a PFX, you need to save the Patch first, then save the Live Set.

No warning window, and no message. I use the patches as they appear in the "program library".

Not sure what is going on. Is there no PFX, MFX, Chorus or Reverb?

This is weird.

Can you go to PRST 001: System G and save that to an empty Live Set slot?

Are the effects still there?

Actually PRST 004: Dream Lead might be a more obvious choice. But I think you get my point.

If I do this, the effects are OK. Also, if I use an existing live set as a "base", I can exchange the patches in this live set with patches that I choose from the patch list. When I save this, the effects will play as they should.

The problem shows up when I try to use an empty "slot" (f.ex. "USER 203:INIT LIVESET") for a new live set. When I fill this up with sounds from the patch list, I loose all the effects. Everything else works fine. This happens if i use any number of patches, even with only one.

Is there some kind of "preparation" needed before I can use an empty slot (f.ex. "USER 203:INIT LIVESET") for a new live set?

Operating system is last release, so no problem there. A "factory reset" seems to have solved the problem (for now). Thanks to all of you for trying to help :-)
