Roland Has Discontinued it's workstations
Re: Roland Has Discontinued it's workstations
It looks like a new BK keyborad + VR-09 in one unit.
I'm afraid we won't see a new workstation...

Re: Roland Has Discontinued it's workstations
So, it has a USB port, DAW control functions, a mic input, a synth keybed and a (smallish) screen which displays a song and hints at either a sequencer or a midifile-player.
A budget workstation?
An Integra keyboard version?
So far it does not look like a top of the line Fantom successor.

Re: Roland Has Discontinued it's workstations
My error - I shouldn't have put the youtube link on; my bad (is for the BK09 I think).
But there is a countdown!
But there is a countdown!
Re: Roland Has Discontinued it's workstations
I got the impression that YouTube showed something along the lines of a Juno-Gi successor, probably with a SN engine.
Other than that, there is indeed a countdown, but since countdowns have become an almost quarterly tradition for Roland I would not get any hopes up.

Yes, I got messed up with different links - oops!Leh173 wrote:I think the video shows stuff that already announced...
Whilst I may get serious GAS if a Roland workstation is announced after the countdown has stopped running, I would be more than satisfied with a Jupiter-80 librarian!
(please Roland!)
Re: Roland Has Discontinued it's workstations
Haha. Yeah I wonder if "this is it", kind of funny they are saying "We Are BACK!" kinda points to something major, but who knows really. If the do drop a G replacement it will be interesting thats for sure!
Re: Roland Has Discontinued it's workstations
If the 'Roland is back' statement truly refers to a BK-9, the Roland marketing dept has transcended into in a different plane of reality where no man has gone before.
But let's wait and see, you never know.

Yep, finally a new OS for FantomG and 2 new ARX cards.. (Organ and Piano+EPiano).
They Are Back can only mean 1 thing - - - they were somewhere, left the place, and came back.
Thanks Roland.

Re: Roland Has Discontinued it's workstations
There seem to be some people with insider information about this BK 9, especially French-speaking:
see this forum:

It is supposed to be a 76 key arranger with a double display.

Re: Roland Has Discontinued it's workstations
Interesting to see that Jordan Rudess has just posted a pic on Facebook of him and Roland's Scott Tibbs jamming in the studio - what springs to mind is that Mr. Tibbs would only be at a Dream Theater Recording session if he was previewing a new product to Jordan, and it's unlikely to be a bk product....
