Hi all, I've had some issues with loading the Fantom-G Driver on Windows 8. I got a new computer but when installing the driver (compatibility mode, administrator) it stops when it asks to connect the device to complete driver install. I've tried the modification they've suggested on the Juno-G forum as well as here (http://forum.recordingreview.com/f9/rol ... led-45378/) to the INF, but this doesn't do it; says there's a problem with the hash file. On some level the Fantom-G is being recognized because it shows up with a yellow exclamation mark, and if I try to start the driver install/uninstall with it connected, it knows the device is hooked up.
Thanks,
Nik
Fantom G Drivers and Windows 8
Re: Fantom G Drivers and Windows 8
To whoever happens to read this - SOLVED! Do not attempt to install the Windows 7 drivers in any form. Instead, try the Windows Vista (either 32-bit or 64, depending on your system). This will work immediately and you'll have a functioning Roland controller! I stumbled across this for another Roland device; it may be a universal fix for Roland controllers (at least keyboards) with Windows 8. Best of luck out there!

You have no idea how much hair pulling you saved me. I was trying to install my Fantom-X on a Win 8 laptop with no luck, then I stumbled across this.
THANK YOU!

Thank you so much for this! I thought I was going to have to downgrade back to Windows 7!
