I think you can buy one on the ebay for about 100-150 dollars..I would say go for it. Even though I got the ARX 1 card I sometimes still prefere the ordinary drumkits on the Fantom. But the extra ARX drumkit is a good complement and you also get an extra midi part to record on. And on that part you have a whole internal mixing table for the ARX drums were you can split and tweak the drums separatly. Let the kick stay in the center..The snare a bit to the left etc..etc..without ocupying more then one part...

When I bought this ARX card a couple of years ago I think I paid allmost 600 (!!) dollars for the drum kit. Thinking about it now it´s allmost a rediculous prize. At least the ARX drums should bee included if you buy a Fantom in the music shop now in my opinium.
But now you can get a card for about 100-150 dollars and I think you should go for it...

As Jan_nl pointed out Tuesday, B&H has ARX-01 for $79.99 with free shipping in the US.

Yes, it is worth it!

I bought one last year before the price dropped (boo-hoo) and I hardly use it. I prefer the onboard sounds in the G or samples that I load.
I thought it would be better than what I have experienced (Supernatural ??? I think the tuning of drums just sounds like any other fine/coarse tuning that's available on the synth itself).
Maybe I need to explore it a bit more to get more from it... maybe it is just mediocre.... maybe it's just me...

Now that prices are lower then maybe it is now a good deal. Why can't the unit price always be lower then they may sell more of them in the first instance ????

The ARX-03 Brass seems to offer more bang for your buck - but then I am a sucker for the way Roland advertise thier gear and think I will be able to play like that - maybe we just need to work harder with what we have rather than bolting on expensive extras (but that is a statement for another post...)

Cheers
