FX in songs
I have set up my own studio set with std patches and incorporated into a song. I thought I could change the effects for each track which I have done but they won't save with the song. Do the effects save with the song or the sudio set or do I have to save each patch with revised effects as a user patch? Any assistance greatly appreciated.

Hey Glenn
Each part can be queued to unique PFX, and be mixed into one (or none) of 2 MFXs, as well as chorus and reverb settings. Done using the Routing function. You can use the Chorus to do instead some other effects (such as delay).
As far as I know, these settings become attributes of the Studio Set - but the good news from my experience is that the Studio Set is saved when you save the song.
I hope that helps.

Re: FX in songs
PFX are saved with-in the patch itself. You do have to save each patch with revised effects as a User patch.Do the effects save with the song or the sudio set or do I have to save each patch with revised effects as a user patch?
Re: FX in songs
Glenn,
It is not clear which effects you have adjusted. if you have created a studio set with preset patches and then changed the PFX then you have in fact created user patches so piaknowguy's advice holds..these need to be saved,
but if you have not changed PFX but have changed MFX1/2 types and part send/return levels then that is saved as part of the studio set..

Re: FX in songs
??? Ok, I'm a little confused, but I'm having the exact same issue...
I just did a nice mix using PFX to add compression and EQ to all my tracks but then it got lost because I did something wrong.
So, if you're only adjusting PFX values, then you have to save each individual part/patch as a separate USER patch? So, for example, let's say I'm compressing a kick drum in patch 022 Rock kit 2a on track 7, once I have it how I like it using PFX only, then I have to save 022 Rock kit 2a to a different user slot? Then after that, I'd have to link part 7 to the new user patch I just created, instead of the original 022 Rock Kit 2a? Then the new mix will be saved?
Is this the only way to do this? This seems like ALOT of extra work...especially if you have alot of songs, you'll have to create a TON of user patches, even if you tweak one small thing, it's going to require a different patch...how would you ever keep them all straight?
Maybe I'm missing something here...
Any help/clarification would be appreciated...thanks!

Re: FX in songs
back to it again. I have created a new song which has a cathedral organ patch PRST 0360. when I play this patch in single mode it has plenty of reverb and souns excellent but in the song although the reverb settings appear to be the same it sounds quie clipped and even upping the reverb will still not get it to sound like the patch does in single mode. any ideas?
Re: FX in songs
Have you looked at the patch and it's Tone Output Send levels?
This has come up in the Juno-G forum quite a few times when working with performances. The Tone Output Sends are pre-effects routing levels. PITA IUAM

Thanks. I've upped the tone output and changed the revwerb from SRV Hall to Hall and got something very close to what I was after
