Sell the thing or start using it. Find work arounds or find another workstation.
Stop calling everything you don't like a bug, better for your piece of mind to consider it a feature.
Learn from your frustation, don't buy something unless it meets your expectations and needs. Don't expect all the issues to be resolved, not by Roland, not by Yamaha, they never are and never will be.
Be creative with the limitation set upon you by your tools.
Merry Christmas, and don't expect much more under the tree than what you've already recieved.
"once a fool, always a fool"
I too am excited, I bought a Gaia & microSTATION two weeks ago and can't open them until Christmas! Only 3 longggggggg days to go.
And remember Roland, something will be annouced at NAMM that I've got to have, you only hope it's made by Roland!
"Merry Christmas, and don't expect much more under the tree than what you've already recieved"
well its gonna suck since there is nothing there yet!..lol
hey merry christmas and good luck with the gaia.. would certainly appreciate your views... AND..
a) did you see in the SH01 forum grauw has done a utility that allows editing arpeggios amongst other stuff (wonder if he can do that for fantom G)?
and..
b) checkout sweetwater.com on youtube.. they include a custom sound bank for gaia.. just sit and recognise bunches of past great hits..really really well done.
I agree that much could be done on the FG OS front, not exactly to please (some of) us with this or that function or feature, but because the machine has the potential to be a Super Workstation, and to completely SMASH the (actual) competition. That's sad to see that Roland does not see it that way...
I've worked in development, so I may understand some of the issues behind the NON-OS update, or the difficulties to get it done and please the majority of users requesting bug fixes, and some of those reasons could be politics, but could also be just economic...
On the NAMM itself, don't forget that Roland does not produce the FG only...
It reminds me ALOT of EA SPORTS and their MADDEN NFL video game franchise.... But either way... I'm still happy at the end of the day (with madden and my Fantom G)
Looking forward to the Roalnd GAIA-pad. Need a new metronome- you never can have enough.
Maybe an ARX card featuring the Roland G-App store where you can download new sounds directly into your Fantom (featuring the classic sounds from SRX!).
Movin on!
It's in german and the sources of these rumours remain unnamed but the author says it is more than wishful thinking.
