recording issue.

Post by AndyJ88 »

hey guys. i recently got my fantom g6 so i'm still working out everything it does. i wanted to have a mess around with the studio mode so i tried recording a simple 12 bar. i plugged a guitar in the back and it came out great but now i've gone to plug my mic in to give it some vocals and for some reason when its recording it just stops after 1 bar even though i've told it to stop at the 12th bar. can anyone advise me on where i'm going wrong? i even tried setting it so it just keeps going till i say stop but still the same problem.

Thanks for reading

*update* i can record vocals succefully once but if i decide to delete the sample and redo it it just records a bar and thats it

Hi AndyJ88,

how much sample RAM do you have installed? I think your temporary sample memory (RAM) is full.

First your samples are in the RAM (temporary memory), which will be gone when you switch off your Fantom. You have to save the samples from RAM to your projects on your USB stick.

This kind of RAM for the Fantom is quite "old" PC RAM and therefore expensive. Don't ask why Roland uses it. There were already lots of discussions here.

I bought this one:

Be careful, not every SDRAM is compatible with the Fantom. Use the search option of this forum. You' ll propably find topics on that.
