I Want To Be Able To Play My Adam's Thru Both My iMac AND My

I've also got a Roland Edirol FA-66 for an interface. I don't want to have to use my Mackie VLZ-1202 Mixer. So far, I've not been able to get the Mac to recognize the G8, but have installed the G8 software. I have a usb going from the G8 to the Mac. The 1/4" phones go from my Adam A7's to the back of the G8. I know that my FA-66 has 1/4" jacks in back. At one time, I was able to do what I want, but was using midi cables in the mix utilizing an old Yam W7.

Sometimes I want to just play some of my iTunes and CD's through the Adams for better sound.

You make your FA-66 sound like an afterthought.

Why aren't you already running all the audio through that? Isn't it quite a bit better than the G?

Keep the mixer out of it for sure and use USB just for MIDI sequencing.

ps. Yes, you could go digital or 1/4" TRS balanced analog lines into the interface. Nice also that you can use balanced output to your A7's.

Sorry you can't be anti-mixer and get what you want. use your external mixer or use a soft mixer in computer via the audio interface.

Of course this is a matter of taste, but having a mixer like that and a FA-66, what makes sense to me is to use both of them.
The Mixer to connect all your gear and the FA-66 to capture the Audio and pass it to the Mac via Firewire.

The final configuration depends on what you are up to and how many devices you have for capturing Audio from.
