Why not connect the G directly via USB audio/MIDI?

i prefer analog domain when contouring my digital instrument sounds so i use TRS into a dbx133XL, then outboard EQ, then into my tube compressor, then into my mixer, then back to my digital recorder.

FANTOMSINGH, the G will stream audio both to USB and to line and headphone outputs. So you can listen to it via monitors or headphones even with your computer switched off.

go to radioshack and get your RCA goodness...

or go to your music store and get an adapter. i recommend you get yourself a good mixer with XLR inputs or atleast biamped monitors.

oO

Well, it's less than preferable but a TRS/TS -> RCA adapter is probably the cheapest way to go. I'd suggest TS-RCA cables, but only if you have another use for them later.

+1 for your new interface, it's a good first step. While you're at Guitar Center check out the monitors and have a listen if you've got time. I'm not a big fan of GC and they'll likely push KRK's on you, but no better time to start shopping. If you are really serious about recording and mixing a good monitor setup is essential and will be 100x more productive than trying to translate your hi-fi setup.

FANTOMSINGH: If you're to connect your Fantom-G to your Firebox via SPDIF, remember that the Fantom-G needs to send the master clock, so you should set the settings on the Firebox's panel so that it slaves its SPDIF clock to the Fantom-G. Also check that the Firebox is set to 44.1KHz.
Probably that's why you experience the audible hiss.
That's what I do when I connect the Fantom-G with my Focusrite Saffire Pro 40.
