next OS, new pad modes

Post by doctorbass »

Something I thought of a few days ago, a pad mode that's a similar idea to the current RPS concept, but instead of placing a phrase on a pad one would be able to place the measures between one marker and another of a specific song on a pad with the option to loop. This would create a simple means of functioning like RPS but with all midi and audio tracks available, instead of just 16. As an example, pad one can be assigned to loop the whole song, pad 2 just measures 1-8 (to go back to the intro or whatever) and so forth. Maybe there would be an easier way of accomplishing the same thing, but that seems to be the most intuitive method to my thinking. Also, the ability to assign CC data to control external machines or softsynths etc and the ability to mix modes (4 pads one mode, 4 other another etc).

maybe this same function could be done by assigning markers to the pads? I'm not sure if this could be done already some how...

I like the idea of having pads send CC data. But the Fantom G could also use Pad banks like the MV-8000/8800.
