Maintaining transpose setting when switching via Favorites

Post by jd »

Hi,
I've noticed that when the G is in 'Favorites' mode, and I set the Transpose down a half-step, if I switch to another patch in the favorites list, the transpose setting is reset back to '0'.

Is there a way to have the G not modify my -1 transpose setting, without resorting to use the Master Key Shift under System settings?

Thanks.. (sorry for all the questions!)

I just tested this with mine and I get the same thing. It changes back to 0, even though the Transpose and -Oct buttons are lit. I haven't really used the Favorites yet, but I can see this being an issue possibly.

I found a workaround for this. If you go into Live Mode and setup Pad Mode to use Part Select, you can have your different patches in a Live Set and then you can use the Pads to change the patches. The transpose key will then stay to whatever you have it set too and it will not change.

Thanks for the response quebec88, but will that work for Performances too (Live mode 'splits / layers')? Perhaps I don't quite understand your workaround..?

Guy's. I save the transposition that I need for every Favorite.

The Favorite saves transpositions and does not care what your prior favorite was.
That is the point. You don't have to keep manually transposing, you just save each transposition to a favorite.

JD,

I think we got our answer from madAhorn on this. Thanks for the tip. Again, I haven't setup any favorites yet, so I didn't encounter what JD was experiencing. Now, I'll know what to do when I get to that point.

Thanks to you both for your help!

Perhaps another tip -- to 'smooth' out the volume differences between patches stored in favorites, you can save the 'Favorites volume' you select via knob 4.

Thanks again.
