Roland, Why no sound update..Like the Korg???

Im not suprised that korg has to give away free stuff just to prop up a poor product line the m3 is just another triton in my book sounds like one too the Fantom G is a lot better than the m3 ever could be.
and on top of that the m3 is ugly with all the people at korg i thought
they could have made the m3 a little more pleasing to the eye.

denvermorgan2000: Maybe this is the case for the Korg M3, but what about the Yamaha Motif XS? Yamaha has provided sound upgrades for the series as well, and the Motif XS is no M3. It's a really powerful device and it has been awarded with a MIPA prize for 2009. Plus it has been around for the longest time than the Fantom-G and the M3. And despite all that and the fact that a Motif successor is rumoured to be around the corner soon enough, yet Yamaha continues to support it with new sounds and OS quite frequently. That's remarkable support in my book.

hey now, i gave all 3 manufactures (yami, korg, roland) a fair chance to show me their stuff before and at the music store when i was in the market for a new synth... and i came home with the winners...they just all happened to be roland.

there's another manufacturer i hate.... toyota. :p

Cool! I think am gonna get this Motif successor either rack or keys depending on what improves. I hope its lighter, easy to work with and bigger screen like Fantom. Also more poly like twice what is now cause I hate this cut off sound since I love combining strings and piano....

but i do have to admit im getting a little concerned about roland its been really quiet and i would like to see some more sounds "better organs ect. roland if your listening" and a more mature os i would really like to hear something from roland. esp DAN the man

FatBrass I was just kidding ) it's just that I like to see Kenchan so turned up against Korg Ops sorry... I think it's "Korugu" in japanese by the way... did you now that the letter "L" does not exist in japanese? The guys at Roland pronounce something like "Rorando" or at least wiki says so... perhaps they had some DOES )

why no sound update? we cant even get os updates in a timely manner. you think theyre gonna give us new soundbanks? bwahahahaaa!!!!!! sell while the fantom is still the newest on the block. when the new motif comes out the fantom might just get shut out if roland keeps ignoring its paying customers.

I have a simple answer for everyone complaining. Sell your Fantom G and buy another workstation. All I know is if I wasn't happy with the Fantom like a lot of you keep stating, I would sell it and buy something else.

The problem is if you sell your G and buy something else, you will have much more problems in other areas. So you'd probably better sell it and don't buy anything at all - you'll be much happier!

I just want to make a statement about my Fantom G
i really like it and if i dont get another sound or os update im still going
to be happy i bought my fantom based on what it is not what it could be
and any os update or new sound is just Iceing on the cake as far as im
concerned.
So the moral is if you dont like it sell it and quit complaining if you cant make great music with this machine you should find another hobby
because ,mayby music isnt your forte.

...or maybe personally you don't use your Fantom-G often enough, or your standards about what you want from your workstation aren't high enough, therefore you see only advantages to your Fantom-G. But frankly, this changes NOTHING about the Fantom-G's current status: an unfinished instrument, nearly a year and a half after having been released.

Why no sound update? What do you mean by "no sound update"... there were four new piano-sounds in O.S.1.30 -)) ok now, leaving the joke behind, as time goes by I find the sound-set of the FG more and more useful. Sounds about I thought in the begining that they are crap now make a certain sense to me. I told someone here the same thing a few days ago - it takes time to get used with a such a complex instrument, and not only with the interface and capabilities etc but mostly with the sounds. Ok I agree that there is a little work to be done - maybe some tweaking or some effects routing, specially in studio mode. But still there are so many things to do further with the Fantom G. Many of us complain about the fact that there is no multi-timbral ARX card yet (or that there is no sound upgrade etc) but now honestly, how many of you guys tooked the best possible out of your Fantom G? I have the G8 for almost 9 months and every day I sit and play with it I realize that I'm far from it's 100% potential (again, not only in terms of capabilities but mostly in terms of sound). I'm telling you guys, 2 or 3 years from now you will be apreciating it more than ever.

cyclops, why did you buy an underpowered car, keep it for so long and complain about it?

There are two options:
- Sell it and get a more powerful car
- Turbocharge it (i.e. get the Sinevibes expansions and Tweakbook)

Leaving something you do not like and posting about it every few weeks - this is beyond my understanding.
