Sequence files compatible with fantom X?

Post by dojec »

Can I use the sequence files ( SQV ) from the fantom X to play on the fantom G? I know propably I have to do some tweaking on sounds and so, but if the rest already plays would be enough for me.

The SVQ format is different on the G, because the sequencer structure is more advanced. However, you can easily transfer your songs if you export as a MIDI file on the X and import it into the G. After that, you will only need to set up parts in studio mode.

Thanks. That means that I first have to save all files as midi again. And since some are protected, I have to record them on an external sequencer.
But it's better to know this before the X is away ;-)

Protected as in they can't be saved as an SMF? There's a trick to get around this. Create a new empty song with the same tempo and from the Load Song screen, import track 1 into track 1, track 2 into track 2, and so on. A bit time-consuming, but it's still faster than recording it into a separate sequencer.
