Anyone figure out how to record transpose ranges from the G to external devices or in Cubase..
From Studio mode I decided to setup cubase to do some external sequencing only to find that part transpositions have no effect on the notes being sent..
C1 is sent as C1 regardless of that parts transposition in PART VIEW.??
How does roland expect people to use external equipment if their gear dont send the information being played???
DAN!??
DAN: G Transposing DOES NOT SEND to EXTERNAL or Sequencer???

There is no transpose option in EXTERNAL so I don't supposed you'll get it. Where are you doing this?
We already discuss it. Roland should implement a transpose function for external MIDI control.

Re: DAN: G Transposing DOES NOT SEND to EXTERNAL or Sequence
Im playing in studio mode and trying to sequence with Cubase
I discussed at length with a roland rep the fact that the G does not
transmit on the channel you select in studio mode mixer but keeps sending on channel 1 or which ever channel is active in the external mixer..
I also made a point of stating that the X trasmited what you played
and on the channel selected in the Mixer..
He said this is Not the way the G is done and that the way its suppose to work is you
Turn Local OFF
and select the channel you wish to record from your external software which will send THRU --> back to the G what you are playing..
However... Now we discover this is not true because the G is not sending all information... for it to be returned.

... see post above
Re: DAN: G Transposing DOES NOT SEND to EXTERNAL or Sequence
I have manage to resolve it...
Using cubase i use the Transpose on that channel..
I suppose this could also resolve the issue for external gear since it would be redirected by cubase to the appropriate channel..
and you can setup and save various configurations..
However...
This being so is no excuse for roland to exclude such functionality..

If local is off, use the front panel TRANSPOSE and OCT +/- buttons. These will transpose the note data send via MIDI and USB.
Transposing external parts is available through the editor, but inexplicably, the parameter doesn't exist on the G's external part param pages.
