Song to demonstrate Brass sounds on my FG/SC combo..

Post by keysme »

Recently in another post I mentioned how my Fantom G7/Sonic Cell combo gives me, in some cases, a greater breadth and quality of Brass sounds when combining both instrument sounds together i.e. layering them. This is also true of many of other sounds too in my opinion. I know I have bragged about that fact (my opinion of course ;) but actions speak louder than words needless to say. :)

This song file I am posting was made using a GM file that I tweaked and is to demonstrate to people who don't own a Fantom G and/or Sonic Cell with SRX 06/07 a chance to hear, not only the Fantom G's internal sounds conceptualized in a song, but also those same sounds used in conjunction and utilized (layered) with the Sonic Cell's internal sounds and/or the SRX06/07. :) This song is called I Wish by SW and my main point for posting it is to let others hear the resulting Brass sounds of the two instruments i.e. FG/SC layered together within the context of a song.

The first link is in .wav format for those of you that have the bandwidth and would like to hear it in uncompressed quality. :) The second link is the .mp3 version. Enjoy!

PS: I realize that a Sonic Cell with two SRX will set you back about $1,200 or so and ultimately Roland coming through with some acoustic sound libraries and/or ARX cards to supplement the FG Brass and other acoustic sounds is ideal and the less expensive path. The BIG question of course is whether Roland will indeed come through in this area regarding ARX and the Sound Libraries??? :(

One other thing... I used the Fantom G preset Jazz VelOct combined with the SC preset 047 Jazz Guitar for the Lead track. As far as the Brass sounds most are FG/SC combo's but there are a couple SRX06 Brass sounds used in the song as well.

Yikes!! One more thing I forgot to mention. :) Download speeds should be much improved as there is now NO restrictive bandwidth limit for downloading. :) OTOH, if the Server is sluggish because of congestion then your "mileage may vary" as they say. :D
