I have been given the work around for all those using macs to be able to use the audio import feature and get your samples and drum sounds into the G untill the fix comes..let me know if it's needed and I will post how to do it
BTW..
Fixed are on there way and are expected within the next week or 2..Roland rep told what the first fix will include ..but I don't remember all ..
one was ..""" auto mapping and the other was undo ..and some other things..
Audio Imp Work around for MAC..and fix info
Re: Audio Imp Work around for MAC..and fix info
I am sorry, but what fix, for what? Audio import works just fine here (yes I am on a Mac too), samples get imported with no problems.
Re: Audio Imp Work around for MAC..and fix info
Art, how do u do it... i tried to import some drum samples and after they came up on the Fantom in the Sample list with a red check next to them what is my next step? they are stored on my usb stick.. i try to load but then it says memory is full.
Re: Audio Imp Work around for MAC..and fix info
Jermon:
I have the same issue using my brand new 4GB Kingston USB stick.
I solve all my USB memory problems using an old 2GB stick. Format it in FAT from my PC, then format it again using FantomG.. everything works now. No more memory full message.
It seems that Fantom G either can not take memory more then 2GB or doesn't like certain brand of USB memory. If you look at the memory info page and your USB memory is showing negative value such as -8%, you may need to change a different one.

Re: Audio Imp Work around for MAC..and fix info
I have a 1 GB drive which I only formatted on the G itself. Put your stuff in the IMPORT folder, then import on the G, then save the project (or, if I remember right, "save all" in the sample list window utility menu).
Re: Audio Imp Work around for MAC..and fix info
Art the mac is making ghost files ...I have a stick of 2 gig ..formatted just for the G and I couldn't get but 10 drum samples on it it would say mem full ill file ect..
Roland gave me a work around to make the G think it has them already...
as far as the fix
It's a version update to fix alot of the complaints ...

OK ..it's a crazy process but this is how it has to be done ..
reformat your usb key first
then go to menu the to project go to save project as and name the project ( whatever) and save it to the usb key ..that will take a sec to do ..once that is done
thentake you key place it in the mac and Fantom G should be on the desktop ..open that find the project that you named open that go to sampl folder
and you are gonna see 32 samples in that folder labled 00010-0032( you can delete if you choose too later ..but for now don't)
you have to rename your samples ..0033 ...0034....0035...0036 ect then put your files in that folder then drag the key down to the trash and then
put the key in the fantom and load project..then when you go to the sample list they will be there...
I have done it and it works great

Very cool. Hopefully this'll be fixed as well in the new update.
No idea how you figured that out. I've always thought the sample import process embedded some sort of metadata into the files so the Fantom can find them easier. So it basically just renames them and places them into the sample folder for you? Hmm... Wonder if this would work on the X as well... as a fix for the sample order weirdness.
