This is great. We get to see and hear Artemio live. Can't wait. I bet the Sonic State video will be up sooner than that.

Hey Bobbybland!

PITCH BEND MODE IS UNDOUBTABLY THE MOST UNDER-RATED FEATURE OF THE G SERIES KEYBOARDS!

Page 97 of the manual. The bend mode for a particular sound is assigned when in patch creation mode. However, you can change the Bend Mode using a CC.

Bend Mode Control
This specifies the CC (control change) whose value is used to switch the pitch bend lever’s operation between the mode specified by Bend Mode (control values 64 or higher) and conventional operation (control values 63 or lower).
Value : CC01–31, CC32(OFF), CC33–95

Bend Mode
Specifies what will happen when you operate the pitch bend lever.

NORMAL:
The pitch bend lever will apply in the conventional
way.
TOUCH:
Moving the pitch bend lever will change the pitch
smoothly, but the pitch will instantly return to
center if you return the lever even slightly.
CATCH:
If you play a note-on with the pitch bend lever
already moved, the pitch will sound at the center
position. The pitch will change only after the lever
has passed through the center position.
LAST:
The pitch bend lever will apply only to the lastplayed
note.
CATCH+LAST:
The operation of “CATCH” and “LAST” will be combined.

I've played around with the pitch bend a little when I was on a proto-type! For guitar simulation, it is absolutely AMAZING!! That feature alone has me drooling at the prospect of owning my new Fantom G8!! =) Subtle bends on individual strings are now possible and can interact with the other pitches, just like on a REAL guitar!!! (When using Distortion, harmonics that one could not manipulate before are now there to work with) It doesn't get much better than that! Of course, it means the fun challenge of mastering new pitch bend technique, but I'm up for it. =)

Cheers!

The original idea for this came from Jan Hammer 30 years ago.
But he had to have custom gear built for this purpose, because no keyboard was able to do this.

Imagine: it lasted 30 years until one of the big manufacturers finally implemented it in a standard keyboard! Nice that Roland did it ;-)

We are only passing time until some person living here begins telling *all* the stuff he can report from Musikmesse :-)

Well said, Jimknopf!

I feel like sitting in a doctor's surgery, with an open wound on my head and Dr. Art is late...

In Germany you don't drink Does Beers, but Flash Beer! ;-)

(sorry, joke only understandable for Germans...)

So Art should definitely be flashed enough to begin writing here!!!
