Yesterday i checked in a store my Sh 201 how to record sounds in Cubase .Those guys who helped me ,they were using a special external audio interface ,and i convinced that it is possible to hear and record the sound in Cubase!
But the specialist also told me that i can use any sound card to do such a thing!
But i have tryed this Realtek or even Roland Sh 201( builded in Synthesizer) and wherever i did i could not hear any sound in Cubase!
What should i do to be able to hear it ?

Re: Unable to hear any sound in Cubase using "Asio for All"
The USB streamed audio from the SH201 does not need to be converted to be used by a DAW as it is already in digital format. Only things I can suggest checking is that the SH201 driver is correctly installed (dont be supprised if you have to re-install regularly, it can be quite tempremental) and that you settings in Cubase are correct. Can you hear the audio from other things you play in Cubase (eg samples or songs)?
Re: Unable to hear any sound in Cubase using "Asio for All"
Yes ,I able to hear any Vst instruments played by keyboard of sh 201 in cubase exept roland sh 201!
I have tryed everything :reinstall drivers ,tunned up settings with chousing right "Inputs" and "Outputs" in Cubase ,and that did not work ...but in the store i remember that they were using a special wire connected between audio interface and sh 201 + there is need some special settings in Cubase with" Device setup" and "Vst Connections" options...
And some of them talled me that i only be able to record a sound by creating an Audio track (not MIDI)in Cubase!
So i guess it is not possible to create midi notes of sh 201 in key editor in Cubase ?

Re: Unable to hear any sound in Cubase using "Asio for All"
I have used both Acid Pro and Ableton (but not Cubase) to record incoming SH201 audio and enter MIDI notes with no special interface or cables required - just USB connection.
The fact that you can trigger your VST's using the SH201 indicates to me that MIDI data is being received in Cubase. From how I read what you have written it sounds like you are trying to setup the SH201 as a VST. I am not sure if this is possible or not, but if you only want to record audio or play MIDI notes into Cubase I dont think that is required. For audio, I think you should be able to set up your audio track as already suggested and select the SH201 as your input device for that track. For entering MIDI notes, set up a MIDI track to receive on the same channel as the SH201 transmit channel.
Another thing I would reccommend is always using the SH201 as your sound output device for Cubase. Will be way better (especially regards latency) than your Realtek soundcard. I had quite noticeable delays from hitting notes to hearing sounds when using the Realtek AC97 in my laptop, but thru the SH201 was brilliant. A nice little bonus of the SH201 in my opinion.
