Selling a used VS-8F3 Software plug-in

Post by soloist »

I just sold off my VS2000CD and all of its boards and plug-ins. There was only one plug-in actually, it was the Auto-Tune VS; anyway, the guy I sold it to cannot use it because there is some sort of register key that goes with VS-8F3 card I was using it with that will not allow him to install it in his machine. Well, on to the question, is there any way that I can circumvent needing this key, or is there a patch or hack I can use. I was thinking about it recently, the only way that this registration key thing could even work is if the setup disc was written on by the VS series recorder on either another session of the disc or just on the disc itself (same session). Perhaps there is a way to burn an image of the disc without this other session info on it, or open the disc and try to find the key, then remove it by copying just the setup files to a PC and burn them as a disc image. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

I sure hope there is a way around this as this would really make me disappointed, and angry, with Roland. I mean, what would happen if I kept the software and then sold all my recording gear to get a newer better VS series recorder (and either forgot and sold the boards I was using them with) would that mean that I would have $$$ lost in worthless plug-ins. if this is true than I am going to call Roland tomorrow and really let them know what I think about this. They should have a transfer of ownership process or something for these software plug-ins.
