Does anybody have an image file for the Auto-Tune Setup CD b

Post by soloist »

Hello, I have been trying to figure out a way around this and it seems that this may be the only way. Would anybody, perhaps a new owner of the Auto-Tune VS software have an image of the CD before the plug-in was installed/authorized. If I can get an image of this CD before installation it should allow me to re-use my own software that i paid for.

If this is a CD-R (not re-writable), how could it be modified?

The original setup CD is a CD-R, however it is not finalized, so when you get your plug-in the setup CD does not have any registration key data written to the disc yet. Either that or it is a Multi-session disc where the second session is not written to and once you install your plug-in it writes to the other session and then finalizes the disc. If I could get an image of the disc before someone installed the software the authorization key would be written on the CD-R by the VS recorder, giving me a chance to use the software that I, again, paid for and should be able to use.

This seems like a very poorly designed way of managing software by Roland, they should have a transfer of ownership or "I lost my setup CD" option where you could provide the UPC and perhaps the sales receipt and they could issue you a new CD. I mean, what does happen if you do lose that CD, you are completely out the money you spent on the software.
