Can i control 808 with the 307?

Post by ginge73 »

Is it possible to use my 307 as a midi contoller for my 808.The thing is,i find that the realtime control using the Editor program is not so smooth as the faders on the actual unit. The Knob control on the 307 was class for realtime recording,so is there a way of setting this up for the 808?,or would it be better to invest in a Midi cotroller keyboard?.

Anyone?!

Dont know about the 307 but u should def. get a midi controller. The 808 isnt velocity sensitive and 16 notes makes it hard to play chords. If its in ur budget break 4 a controller with 61 keys or at least 49 so when u play scales or chords u dont run out of room, and make shure it has an easy way to cycle through midi channels.

My room mate tried connecting his Electribe into my 808 and was able to use most of the knobs to control parameters with it. This gave me the idea of buying a programmable MIDI control panel with tons of buttons and knobs, which is mentioned in another post.

I have an MC-505 as well, so I'm sure if I can use it to control the MC-808, the 307 should work as well.
