MC 808 quantization problem

Post by knowblack7 »

Hey, can anyone help with this one? WHen i am recording parts of a pattern, I am having this problem- if i lay down my hi-hats first, they sound great! after a couple more parts of midi data are recorded, the hi hats start to double, ang get slightly off beat. Sort of like a delay type thing. ANybody know something about this?

Hi knowblack7,

i never had that issue.
could you export such a pattern as a smf file and send it to me to test it on my mc-808?

Ciao, Dirk.

i have the issue with this doubel notes on hihats(32) some times !
its because of the working of the quant(shuffel16) and the mix recording !
if you do not stop recording in the loop 100% you have double notes too.
or the quant of 2 fast notes get quant to the nearest 16
and do flange/double.
the mc 808 needs a feature delete double notes hope we get that in the future !
workaround (mix rec) is to activate the feature of Rec Loop Rest and do not quant notes faster then 16 with shuffel and groove templetes that only use 16 notes.
also you should record the hihats separatly on track 11 and do a 32 grid quant works most !
