I have been lusting after this beast for quite a while, and found one on sale tonight, and bought it.
I loaded up the latest drivers, updated the OS, installed the librarian.
And much to my dismay, there is no editing software.
So I searched the Internets, and there is no editing software to be found.
Is this really true? Can there not be any patch editors for such a fine synth?
Please tell me that I am wrong.
Are there patch editors for the V-Synth XT?
Re: No editors!
I returned the unit and got my money back.
Maybe the new version will have proper computer editor support.
You guys rock! Thanks for all of your support! This is an excellent forum!

Re: Are there patch editors for the V-Synth XT?
I wonder why in the world would you need an editor software if everything is much more easily controlled on the XT itself? All V-Synth and XT users I ever knew will tell you that this is one of the best user interfaces in hardware, everything is logical and easily accessible. Guess you're one of those guys which still think one mouse cursor is better than 10 fingers

Re: Are there patch editors for the V-Synth XT?
totally agree ,aside from the worst midi cc setup i ever used in 15 years the actual editing of the vsynth / xt is very intuitive.Still trying to work out how to transmit midi cc and knob movements on the xt ! but no need for a software editor ! and really no reaon so sell . . .

Re: Are there patch editors for the V-Synth XT?
if you use cubase, you can use the midi device map for the vsynth (xt) that i've posted on this forum.
Almost every parameter available in the vsynth can be controlled by this map and even be automated in cubase.
also the arpeggiator and stepsequencer can be controlled from this map.
it looks like this:
Cubase V-Synth editor

Don't bother robinez.
Someone has just returned an amazing sounding top-of-the-range synthesizer because it has no Patch Editor - Meaning, the XT is useless without a PC

I think your post might be a little harsh. There is no doubt that the V-synth is a powerful and feature-full instrument. The presence of many knobs is also great for performance. However the user interface present many challenges. I make these comments after working with the device since January 07.
1. The screen size is small and poorly positioned. I can't imagine editing a sample on it. It is awkward to have to hunch over the keyboard to read things and the screen is almost invisible when the sun shines through my window. I would much prefer to sit up straight and look at my monitor than work on the V-synth screen.
2. The user interface has many more situations where the behavior is inconsistent compared to my experience with Windows or Mac software. Some of this could be attributed to poor documentation but after several hours of experimentation I have yet to split the keyboard. It worked once but I could not repeat the magic combination of keys.
Are the V-synth strengths sufficient to overcome its weakness? It seems to me each artist needs to make that judgment for themselves. While I haven't decided for myself yet, I do enjoy the community support here on VTribe.
