Hi all,
Is some one have heard about third part sound designer who made (and probably sell) acoustics instruments patches for the v-synth v2.0? I know that some guys would say "why simulate accoustic sounds on v-synth? it is not designed for!"... But I'm sure (I know - but design acoustic sounds take a lot of time, wich one I haven't) that this gear have a great potential in those sounds...
Thanks,
Tambra
Acoustic patches ?
Re: Acoustic patches ?
There is a great potential indeed, however, third-party patches would require custom waveform material as well. I personally planned to make a free grand piano multisample for the V, I think I'll do it very soon.
I think I'll do it very soon.
HURRY UP, ART!
(you know im just kiddin!)
BuUUUut....I was just about to do that patch and now i think i'll just do tha rhodes first.

hi artemio
a v-grand-piaon would be veeeeery nice, that's what im missin and i dont have the knowledge to programm sounds like a piano from scracht...you do?
I'm sure you will post that patch, am I right?
Greetings from Switzerland

Re: Acoustic patches ?
The University of Iowa site has a superb-quality multisampled grand. I already got it, I will optimise it and then create a zone-based multisample and will post it over here for free. The total size will be about 30-40 Megs though - it's in stereo, and full sustain, no looping!
Re: Acoustic patches ?
Greetings v synthers ,
i havent found any for V synth but there is someone on ebay doing these
http://search.ebay.co.uk/_W0QQsassZvariworldQQhtZ-1
vp9000 raw waveforms and the eastern stuff is stunning. The people behind variworld are developing V synth libraries i was told for later this year with some crazy acoustic waveforms and 500 instruments etc and things like bowed metal sheets and handmade devices and also modified synths like a novamod sh101 bank for the v synth ! .
I can recommend the waveforms 110% on ebay i think there totally underpriced though these are waveforms or single sounds and so i needed to tweak in the Vp to get the best results .I nearly didnt buy as i thought it was some cheap gimmick cdr like most ebay samples .Ive used loads in the v synth to create very authentic woodwinds etc and some very otherworldly sounds including hybrid sounds which mix different ethnic sounds to create imaginary instruments (an idea the guys at variworld suggested )
Personally i dont find the V synth great for mimiking 'real instruments 'and use a vsti sampler or sampler for this.I find the power with the v synth is in creating these hybrid 'crossed ' sounds that are lik a flute on minute and bowed string the next and do not sound like any earthly sound but i like slightly unearthy music.

Re: Acoustic patches ?
Thanks to all for thoses answers.
Artemio, it would be a very good base to work on your multi-grand!
Concerning the raw material, I think that a lot of V-synth users have a respectable home-studio, and some acoustic instruments not far from them. What miss is the method. I imagine that a template patch could be use and work for many sounds, without major adjustement. We also need for that a method to build multisampled .wav files. In this way, a group of "V-synth acoustic sounds builders" could share there work and create a free acoustic library.
John, it's a great information that you gave me. I'll take more information from them if I can.
"Personally i dont find the V synth great for mimiking 'real instruments 'and use a vsti sampler or sampler for this."
I think the power of the V-sinth in real instrument emulation, is based on zone, variphrase, and use of multisampled files with retrigering capability. Just imagine a 16 zones patch, with 3 to 4 note per zone, each one using one multisampled files with several samples (let's say 4, but it depends of the desired max size of the patch), each note you play retriggering another sample... and add the V-synth synthesis on this
"I find the power with the v synth is in creating these hybrid 'crossed ' sounds that are lik a flute on minute and bowed string the next and do not sound like any earthly sound but i like slightly unearthy music."
I'm agree with you. A beautiful acoustic-like synth sound is much greater than any good real instrument emulation.
Stephane.
