I was wondering if any of you guys know of any Namm rumors?
I have spent a fair chunk of time with the XT over the past few weeks and I'm ready to buy.
But.....
I've begun to feel a little nervous. The problem is that here in Japan they are giving away a free fitted case, but this offer runs out just as Namm2006 starts!
Is this just a coincidence or are they trying to make way for a new model V-Synth?
Namm 2006.
Re: Namm 2006.
hope so - hope they include enough ram to use the v synth xt as a sampler also !

Yeah, I wonder what's happening?!
Over the past week I've noticed more than the usual amount of used XTs be put up for sale here in Japan too.
Should I wait is the question really. The cash is burning a hole in my pocket, but I guess an extra motnh won't kill me.
I'll be kicking myself if nothing with Variphrase shows up at Namm though...
Someone here at Vtribe must have a little info on what Roland has planned for Namm. Pleeeaaasseee.

Sorry but I never heard/saw any info leaked anywhere, so we really have to wait. I hope for VC-3 with some physically modeled drums and percussion, that would be killer.

Re: Namm 2006.
A new Vcard/cards would be cool for sure. They can't bring out enough of these in my opinion.
I'm just itching to buy an XT after loading heaps of my own samples into the demo model at the shop.
I just wonder if Roland will bring out something else with Variphrase. Who knows, they could bring something out that be better than the V-Synths, or at the very least may make the V-synth series cheaper.
Still though, it may be just a coincidence that I'm seeing more than usual used ones for sale, and that Roland are giving away stuff with the new ones up until Namm.
At any rate...
Does anyone else have any wish lists for winter Namm?

Re: Namm 2006.
A new improved V after just a year with OS 2.0 and XT? Very not likely. But a new card is 75% probable I'd say.
Re: Namm 2006.
Yes, I too think it would be strange if Roland released a new V-Synth that soon after the XT.
When it comes to V-cards, I would like to see some kind of new synthesis, something a little more 'inventive' than just another va. I know a lot of Yamaha Motif users wish for the fs1r in a plug-in for the synth, what could be the equivalent in Roland's world?
I don't know, but I still want to get the vocoder card and it will be a high priority for 2006

Yeah, I think you guys may be right. It does seem very soon when you think about the release date of the XT and version2.0.
I think as far as Vcards go, I would like to see another synthesis engine too.
A Fs1r style of card would be interesting for sure - specially when editing on that touch screen! I don't think Roland has anything similar to this (may be wrong though).
But even just a user friendly (and nice sounding) FM or Additive synth may interest me.
I may be getting greedy though, as I don't even own the actual Vsynth hardware as yet.

Re: Namm 2006.
I have heard nothing from Roland about a VC 3 but I am hopeful. Their booth is going to be smaller than previous years as well so probably not a lot of new product this year...
Re: Namm 2006.
Anyways, if Roland don't release another card, that won't be the end of the world for me. The V-Synth is so powerful and unique on its own, that getting to expore all the possibilities will take a great amount of time, and on the way you will have produced countless sensational patches
What I find so shockingly fantastic about the synth, is the ease-of-use combined with the extreme results. It doesn't get any better than this, actually I have never really given its (so-called) limitations any thought at all.
What I would like to see at NAMM, is some kind of effects expansion board for the Fantom X series. I don't own a Fantom personally, but with an extended effects section, I would seriously considered getting one.
I used to own a Motif ES, which has a stagering 16 ins efx blocks, but sold it due to the very awkward and difficult os. Coupled with the small screen, I found it very hard to get any work done.
The Fantom X seems to be very competent and easy to use.
