Hi folks I dont frequent these boards much even though I am a Fantom X8 owner and love Roland gear but the New V Synth has me drooling a little so Ive got to make comment.

I do hope it enables multiple synth engines to interact and not be burdened by switching synth engines.

Running a D-50 alongside a Jupiter 8 would be fantastic. It looks gorgeous and I'm sure it will sound amazing.

I would love to have this along side my other keyboards or even replace some of them...... vocal processing is a biggie for me and the V Synth is the best on the market for this.....I think this NAMM is gonna be one of the best for many years.

upgrade....

I don't see updating the current V-Synth as a reasonable expectation. I speak from the perspective of owning two V-Synths. Roland only owes us replacement parts to repair our V-Synths if they ever fail within 7 to 10 years. I would be happy to get a VC-3.

I've got my original Juno-60 and have only had to replace a noisy master volume control. Roland had the spare parts 22 years after I bought my Juno-60. What a great company!

Oh yeah, also:
two JX-3Ps w/ one PG-200
two JX-8Ps, JX-10 w/one PG-800
XP-50, JD-800, JP-8000, VariOS, VC-1, VC-2
Fantom X8 w/SRX-07 and SRX-08

Roland needs to sell new product to continue funding their new product development process. We will want a third generation V-Synth and an updated Fantom X.

The biggest expectation I would have is that Roland would allow current V-Synths owners to have priority in buying the new V-Synth.

I'm ready when Roland is ready.

I saw that, it shows up on Google. I'm not sure how reliable this info is though.

I love the idea of a split keyboard with a real fat silky Jupiter-8 pad on the left and one of the classic D-50 bells on the right. I hope the new V-Synth can duplicate the JP-8000 supersaw for all the trance producers (unless it's already been done in the current versions).

BTW I love it when you guys wax philosophical. The "truck cannot fly like a plane" and the story about the farmer taking a pig on an airplane is priceless. Just shows as always that critical thinkers are able to see both sides of most issues. Or else they're not critical thinkers.

AP = Analog Percussion

It's a longshot but I hope Roland would model all their old analog beatboxes but with sound editing paramters. What a nice VC-3 that would be.

I think Roland have done a fantastic job supporting the V-Synth, and the OS upgrades have been top notch.
The new V-Synth will definatly have a much more powerful processor, and I strongly doubt the old one would be capable of running the new technology.

That's just the way things work.

Roland have done a tremendous job in updating the product, that's a lot more than you could say about some of the competition. And they are developing the technology, advancing it, and for that I love'em!
Thanks Roland, you rule! :-)

Its absolute toture to tease us with a glimpse and leave us waiting...

I'm sure the new V-Synth will be wonderful, but like the original V-Synth keyboard I have no desire to purchase it immediately. It took until V2 to interest me enough in the 'old' one, and as I haven't fully explored it yet I will wait for developments on the new one.

A re-issue of VC-2 for the old keyboard please! And an assurance that it won't be discountinued again - I believe we should expect support for them like any other Roland product.

Cheers,
B

LivePsy:

Couldn't agree more. I just got mine yesterday, and I agree also on the V2 thing. It took me until Friday to purcahse one, and only after the price had dropped through the basement.
