I am a MORON and I am lost

Post by gordon proctor »

HELP I recently bought a Fantomxa, keep in mind I am 52 and the only synth I ever owned is a korg dw8000(ok stop laughing)I tried to read the manual ,and bought the dvd tutorial, but I am lost !I can access the sounds but am confused about loops ,patches and performances or songs.I thought this would be so simple, like the tracks on a tape machine!Even the newbies sound so midi smart,I wonder if this is beyond my grasp?Does anyone know what I mean?is there some kinda midi work stations for dummies book or dvd out there? what about a tutor? please HELP!

My poor fellow, you really are lost. First, this is a V-Synth forum and not a Fantom forum. You should visit http://www.fantomized.info, then you will at least be reading discussions that are related to the piece of gear you have just bought.

There is quite a lot of tutorial material out there. Maybe start with the newbie section of fantomized.info.

Good luck,

Hi Gordon,

If you are new to this stuff you could shell out a bit of cash on a book called "The Dance Music Manual" ( http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASI ... 72-0496407 ).

The book is directed towards producing dance music but is absolutely crammed full of usefull info on midi, synths, sampling fx etc.

It is well worth getting even if you never want to write "dance" music.

Cheers
