note on - note off

Post by RAMMANR88 »

how do you tap the keyboard and keep a loop running without having to hold the note down like on the mpc? cause i then want loops to cut themselves off when another is struck. i tried bringing up the release from the adsr but it fades out too soon!

Well, V-Synth is definitely not an MPC, it's a synth ;-) There is only one solution for you: record the loop into the arpeggiator, and then trigger it and use the HOLD button to hold the arp.

record the loop into the arpeggiator

Thanx Artemio!
I tried to record the loop into the pattern edit mode in the arpeggiator but it wont play the whole 4 bar sample! itll hold but only for like 4 of those little balls at the bottom which is about half a bar at 1\16(i think thats the staff with 2 flags on it; well its the default anyhow!). i tried moving the grid around to a bar that just slows the pace. I really need the XT to hold loops and for them to cut themselves off when triggered tho. Artemio you were right there mentioning the moves I didnt mention but already made! You are like Everywhere! No disrespect but I dont think anyone of my V-brothers would answer that question for fear of boring themselves----until they would need such a function!

Just set arp resolution to 1/8 note (it's the GRID parameter in the main arp edit screen as I remember) - then you will have 4 bars in the arp.

then you will have 4 bars

Ok
Did that; it works. Now. I have the keyboard in 2 zones with two different samples on each side arppegiated, now how do you make the 2 samples cut each other off "live".

thanx, it has nothing to do with arps

Just call me the African Artemio!

if you split the keyboard, press the loop button, max the release on the tva; toggling between both zones in the main window, you'll be able to cut each sample off while the key is holding. unfortunately i use a 4 bar loop and the volume decays at about 2 1/2! Also this would work by simply pressing the key hold button but it turns a key to on/off rather than on/on
