WTF?!
WTF?!
I was just checking the price of a V-Synth GT for a mate here in the UK and they're all suddenly 2 and a half grand!!!
A Fantom G6 is now £2,039!!!
Have I woken up in some parallel universe coz I could have sworn they were something like £1500 the other day.
Even a Fantom XR is listed at Digital Village for £1,149.99!! They were £750-ish last week.
What's going on?

Re: WTF?!
Oh yes, welcome to the new crazy financial times! We have discussed this in another topic. This is due to the increased rate of the pound to the Japanese yenk. Or is that called "yen"?
Re: WTF?!
Unlike me, who bought an apartment which now dropped to almost half of it's price... Good thing, though, is that I have learned to bite my elbows, and I can bring the lost money back by working in a circus!
Re: WTF?!
Welcome to the REAL WORLD Art !!!

Re: WTF?!
Paulo, you mean, you can bite your elbows too?

Re: WTF?!

Re: WTF?!
Yep... lucky to get my GT s/h for £999 or something...
Also my Moog Voyager Select for £1300 s/h
Something tells me we're in this recession for the long haul... think I'll be in the studio a lot over the next 2 years...

Re: WTF?!
Could anyone explain me the purpose of bitting my own elbows?
Anyway, I believe this is the first time this happens to me, meaning, having a keyboard (a G8) that cost more now that it is used then when I bought it new

"Whats going on"
Tha value of the Pound has dropped meaning that we no longer have a strong currency against the yen,so your not getting such a good deal on Roland products.
Glad I bought my GT 12 months ago, when It cost me £1500
The best deals now are in the secondhand markets, because some people are struggling financially they're selling there hardware gear at giveaway prices.

oh the irony
very ironic:

i'm struggling financially... and musically. i'm on disability. i bought most of my gear before my job was ripped out of my life. ruined my credit 100% because of these toys... i had thought that buying hardware, like the V-Synth XT, would mean that i maintained some of my financial investment because of potential resale. i don't WANT to sell any of my gear because i had ideas in mind for each and enjoy all of it... though right now i rarely use it, due to disability complications (massive depression makes for massive disinterest in being constructive - actually, i rounded the bend and started taking walls out of my house). i was literally days away from listing a T.C. Electronic Konnekt32 Firewire audio router/interface because they weren't even developing 64-bit drivers... and then a notification came in from their support system... 64-bit drivers are now under development.
The Virus TI doesn't support 64-bit, but i have multiple computers, i didn't buy it intending to use it as an audio interface (though that seems to work surprisingly well), and the thing is valuable standalone, like the V-Synth XT (both are awesome synths).
but the Konnekt32...
so if anyone is interested in it...
