identify sound generation

Post by profu »

hi,

I've had the GT for a while now but only now I have the time to go hrough it and dig to understand how it all works. So far it's pretty clear and is an amazing machine, but there's a really annoying tone I can't understand at all

Tone is 409 Total Beat1, and basicallly I just want to understand what generates this sound. I have only this tone set for the upper part, and is still split at C-1 between a beat (generated by the two OSC) and what it sounds as a drawbar organ, after C-1. If I switch everything off, the drawbar still sounds, and is driving me nuts, I don't undertsand what generates this sound above C-1

It's GT OS 2.0... can anyone check if there is the same situation...?

thanks a lot

I have the same situation with my XT, a few patches seem to be "glued" to the machine, and even if I disconnect both OSCillators, they still sound.

I don't know the reason for that, and I did not lose too much time with that, although I suspect it should be something very easy and logical, but so far I did not get it ;-)..
The only way I was able to kill that was doing the following:

1- INIT a patch that you don't need (there are a few that are perfectly unusable in any kind of music IMHO, so that's easy)

2- COPY all Patch Stucture from the Original patch to the new one, using the Patch Copy feature (that is different in the GT, but should be similar in v 2.0)

3- Name the new patch and Save it

4- Now Try to tweak the new patch. It works now (at least in the XT it does !!!)

Try this and let us all know

It's a sound with several zones in it. Change to Zone 2 and disable the osc there - the drawbar organ will stop sounding.
