Hi
Could GT owners confirm whether the 28 note poly is per tone, or shared across both tones? I understood the latter to be the case, but read a review in a magazine that seemed to imply that each tone has it's own 28 note allocation.
Thanks

GT: is poly share across both tones?
Re: GT: is poly share across both tones?
According to my quick testing, the GT polyphony is almost twice of the original V-Synth polyphony. A very hungry VariPhrase+SBF patch which could only play 4 voices on the V-Synth, plays 7 on the GT. For more simple patches, it should definitely be 2x.
Re: GT: is poly share across both tones?
That's fantastic news and not what I expected at all.
Re: GT: is poly share across both tones?
The other fantastic news is that the vocal designer is very different from the VC-2. The vocoder now //integrates into the V-Synth structure//. This means that the carrier consists of two OSCs, two COSMs, and MOD, not to mention the carrier can have 16 zones! I don't know what to say. Two V-Synth's in one give way more than I have expected! Amazing.
Re: GT: is poly share across both tones?
Damn, does this mean it takes more than 4 of those big batteries?
Re: GT: is poly share across both tones?
Yes unfortunately it now needs 8 AAA's... Well but finally the TTP has both heating and cooling modes and when you use it as a cup holder you can either keep the tea hot or the beer cold! Way to go Roland.
P.S. BTW, in the vocoder carrier you also have the 4-track step mod... This is INSANE I am telling you!!! Off to make some demos.
