hello!
i want record a synth melody containing notes from 2 octaves. unfortunately i have no external keyboard at the moment to connect it via midi. so i have to use the internal keyboard, which has not enough keys for my melody. is there a way to assign other notes to the unused keys? (something like the "fold"-function in ableton live's keyboard roll).
to be sure that you understand what i want:
usually the keyboard works this way:
Key C plays note C1
Key D plays note D1
Key E plays note E1
i want to modify it this way:
Key C plays note C1
Key D plays note C2
Key E plays note A3
is it possible?
MC-505 and its internal keyboard
Re: MC-505 and its internal keyboard
i think this is not possible with mc-505 itself, but try a prog MIDIOX(you'll also need PC with midi interface), it's freeware and for sure it's possible to map midi messages with it, like, say, map cc#15 to cc#25 or to midi notes, maybe it's possible to map one midi note to another, i'm not sure....
another option is to input notes one by one, first you input c1, then c2, then a3....
or input c1,d1,e1 and then with microscope or with transpose edit your sequence(you can transpose note ranges).... that's all i can advice

Re: MC-505 and its internal keyboard
thanks I AM!
unfortunately i can't use the prgram you named because i am on mac.
BUT:
i managed to record the melody by using key shift. i selected the key shift value which enabled me to play the most tones on the keyboard. the other tones needed to be recorded in a second step...
