Sam, why post here if you can mail me? Anyway, what do you mean "the URL is dead"? There can be server downtimes once in a while, you should retry.

Hi Artemio. I, too, could not send my compilation song. It was classed as Spam. I know that I could mail it, but it takes 3 weeks and there's less than 3 weeks left on the schedule. Maybe I'll send it later for Compilation #5.

How are you sending it? Via e-mail? Most e-mail servers won't let you send more than 10 MB. You have to use our FTP site, the login details were sent in the last newsletter:

The size of files, so far, has not made any difference with my server as I have sent some mighty big files with no problems in the past.

I sent it to the address you gave.

I'll try again later today when I am more fully awake (Daylight Savings Time this weekend has really screwed up my eyes and mind coordination).

Which address, pardon? anonymous@fantomized.info is a login for our FTP server, it's not an e-mail address.

I have tried to open ftp://fantomized.info/incoming, but I get the message "Windows cannot access this file". I guess I'm doing something wrong.

I tried what you suggested. Still didn't work. I figure it must be me. So, I've mailed a CD of my song. Should be there in about 1 week. If it's too late for Comp #4, please accept it for Comp #5.

I just tried this right now (6:08 PM MDT)

**1. If you are in windows open a command prompt/dos box. if you are in a unix environment (linux) open a command prompt.

cd (change directory) to where your song is.

windows eg. cd c:\temp\mysongs

or

linux eg. cd ~/tmp/mysongs


**2) type (or copy and paste:

ftp ftp.fantomized.info

and press enter. you will see:

Connected to ftp.fantomized.info.
220---------- Welcome to Pure-FTPd [TLS] ----------
220-You are user number 3 of 50 allowed.
220-Local time is now 19:07. Server port: 21.
220-This is a private system - No anonymous login
220 You will be disconnected after 15 minutes of inactivity.
Name (ftp.fantomized.info:scokar):

for the name, type (copy & paste):

anonymous@fantomized.info


You will see:

230-User anonymous@fantomized.info has group access to: 65535
230 OK. Current restricted directory is /
Remote system type is UNIX.
Using binary mode to transfer files.


**3) type bin (press enter) -- binary transfer
**4) type hash (press enter) -- print hash mark (# symbol)

**5) type: cd incoming (and press enter)

**6) type: put mysong.mp3

**7) when you are done, type 'exit' or 'bye' or 'quit', one is bound to work.
