I wouldn't do that. I'd say you are trading a high quality keyboard (both sound and built wise) for 4 low quality keyboards. IMO Fusion is an OASYS made by Casio.
Why don't you use a computer instead?

I don't think so. With Fusion you indeed get 24 bit recording, internal hard drive and some analog and physical modeling... But you get a very low-resolution screen, not really convenient controls, loose Roland-quality sounds and effects... Well, nothing will give you an answer except spending 3-4 hours with each side by side. Try to perform the same task on both - e.g. lay down some part, then add bass and drums, then add an audio track, polish with effects, etc. - and see how easy it is and how pleasant the result sounds to your ears.
Fusion vs fantom
I'm a big fan of both Roland and Alesis and I have been anxiously awaiting reviews in the major magazines for months to see how the fussion stacks up. Finally, after at least six months of being released, there was a review in Keyboard. You may want to check it out before doing anything drastic. There are a few very important features missing in the fussion. The main one to me is Time stretching is not there at all. Also, I've had a chance to mess around with one, and the overall impression that I got was that it just felt a little cheap to me. Don't get me wrong, I really like the thing, and I think that Alesis really puts out quality. There product support is also outstanding, or at least was a few years ago. It's just that they put so much into that instrument that they had to cut corners somewhere. If your planning to move this thing around at all it does seem fragile. Another thing for me is the screen. It is pretty large, but it seems to stay the same no matter what your doing. This could be good I guess but it was just confusing to me. I couldn't get very far without a manual. To me, that really is one of the great things about the fantom. The color screen not only looks nice, but it makes things so easy to do! In a performance you can have all the info you need on the screen at once. Sampling can't be any better. The sample is right there on the screen, and you can adjust it with the knobs. Perfect. To me the fusion would be an awsome keyboard to have, but I wouldn't have it as my only keyboard. Whatever you decide good luck.
