The juno g replacement screen by bustskunk is a great solution for owners of the juno g.
The screen is smaller in size than the original but,there is no alternative as far as i know.
So this really is the best solution to date.
The build quality is very good,and the lcd ver 2.0 is mounted on a firm black backplate.
It came boxed in a neat package and the contents were bubble wrapped,the lcd screen was sealed in an anti static bag/sleeve and one ribbon cable was provided.
communication with the seller was top notch and very responsive to any questions regarding the display.
I recieved my order after two days of purchasing from the seller in tip top condition.
Having a working juno g again is just great,so anyone with a little patience and a phillips screwdriver and about an hour to spare should be able to easily install the replacement lcd screen.
I am very happy with the replacement lcd ver 2.0 screen.

Hi everyone! I know, it's 2025... :) However, maybe there's still someone out there enjoying their good old Juno-G, except for the display.
So, a few months ago I was looking for a replacement screen. Note that I had my screen replaced once by Roland already, but it was failing again. This time, the LEDs below the screen were slowly failing one by one, I had only two LEDs at the bottom left corner left to illuminate the whole screen. Plus, I was tired of trying to set a decent contrast every time, as you probably know the contrast knob goes from "you can't see anything" to "everything is black".
So I pulled the trigger and I said, ok, let's do it.
I waited a few months before writing here because I wanted to test it, and I can say it's been working perfectly so far. I used it for several rehearsal sessions and on stage with no issues.
Biggest improvements:
- finally a readable screen with nice contrast and nice backlight
- reliable so far
Drawbacks:
- as pointed out above, it's smaller and you have to be careful and think twice when you press function keys because they don't match the text position anymore.
So I would like to answer the question: is it easy to replace? Well, yes and no. If you're used to working with electronics, if you've ever disassembled a laptop, for example, to replace the hard disk, or if you've ever assembled your computers, you should be fine.
There's a lot of stuff inside that you have to unmount: several flat cables, several motherboards that have to be removed and remounted. So it requires some manual ability. Most important, you have to remember how to put everything back in place. Take pictures while you're dismantling, mark every screw and every cable and board, and where each cable should be connected, to make sure you know how to put everything together again.
I'm extremely happy and I'm enjoying my Juno-G again. I swear I have no connection with ButsSkunk and this is an honest review. Take care everyone and enjoy your Junos!
