i want to destroy my Juno-g.

Post by richardjuno-g »

im not happy.

been workin on this track for a while, on an audio track i had a sample from an old record, then had all my drum/bass/ bla bla in the norm tracks,

i obviously saved everything as i norm would and i have been back to the juno g a few times to work on this particular tune,

anyways, turned the juno on today and loaded up the song to show a friend what id been working on,

all that played wer the norm tracks, it seems my audio stuff had evaporated!?!?!?!?! i did nothing out of the usual!!!

when i tried to load the sample i got the "illegal file" message.. ???

i am new to this sort of stuff and would appreciate if anyone could help explain to me why this has happened!?!?!? i dnt understand!! have i been a comlete doghnut or has the juno g played its last note?

To destroy or not to destroy the Juno?

I think the problem your expiriencing is not saving your samples. After you have imported your sample and assigned it to a patch/audio-track you need to save the samples. I use a Fantom XR (doesnt have audio tracks) and would expect a slight difference in the menu system.
On the Fantom this particular function ('Save All Samples') is found in the Sample Utility menu. I suspect what you did save was only the patch/performance settings not your samples. Hope this has shed some light on your problem.

On Juno-G after you import or record anything you need to press WRITE while in the SONG mode and select Save Song And Samples or something like this.

You´re not alone !

Post by Gray-C.Halo »

I discovered all of you guys out there just today and I´m covered with seriously mixed feelings as I feel less lonely with my Juno-problems but united with our frustrations. Here´s another good one, after trying to "apply"your sustain-and sample-toubles:My Juno-g did sustain in real-time rec.on the seq. ,but when I listened to the recording, the sustain was gone in vaporland!!(and no,-no pedal mistakes).Apart from the crappiest manual I´ve ever seen and losing myselves too much in ghostly sample-storidges and"damn hard to find dimm mem.-cards", the audio-tracks are weak in signal with guitars and basses.(you have to use a hell of onboard mastering fx´s to boost things up).And no....it´s not an easy,"hands-on" buddy, that Juno. What could we expect for that cash? It´s like driving a shiny sportscar with wheels of a milk-van. Seriously dissapointed...Sincerely yours, Gray-C.

Sounds like Roland needed to sort the bugs out better and make the manual more clear before releasing the product. Seems like alot of people are having problems with this machine from what I read in the posts in here. Hope mine don't give me trouble.

sell it and get a Fantom X ... with all due respect, it's what you should have gotten in the first place ...
