Juno g is great

Post by kamburgey »

I ve had it for a month and I am very pleased with it. I higly recommend it, add ed the piano srx also. When do you think there will be an OS update and what features do you think it will add?

Juno-G is good...but

Post by niterider »

The only thing it doesn't have is multi-sampling. I hope an OS update would take care of that issue.

I like the Vintage Keys board, but instead of more waveforms, Roland should give analog modelling srx card, and update new OS with multi-sampling!

I'd like an OS update to add some of the deeper sequencer editing functions. I don't hold out any hope for getting pattern-sequencing.

Niterider,

You still seem utterly consfused about what the SRX boards can do ... THERE WILL NEVER BE AN ANALOG MODELING BOARD FOR THE JUNO-G because it is simply not possible.

And if Roland was going to give the Juno-G multisampling ability they would have already done it. It was a very conscious marketing decision to differentiate it from the Xa and X. It is not an "issue" except that you bought a keyboard that does not feature it.

IMO, you are deluding yourself.

You can e-mail Roland youself, but anybody who thinks the Juno-G is going to be granted some amazing new abilities through an OS update is bound for disappointment.

there is no reason for roland not to provide multi-sampling capabilities for a price...like i say, roland can charge some money to get the new OS, in that way it can be differentiated from the fantoms where you already pay for the multi-sampling.

SRX means waveforms, I know 100 percent. but there might be a way to get modelling, after all yamaha plug ins can be modelling or waveform (PLG150XG, PLG150DR) all can go through the same slot on the motif

I suppose you can BELIEVE whatever you want regarding the Juno-G and a multisampling update ... maybe you'll be right (I don't think so) ... But for your sake, I hope you are.

... As for the SRX cards ... there is simply NO WAY that will EVER HAPPPEN.

The Yammi plug-in is large and has extra chips and circuitry on it ... the SRX cards are tiny -- mere ROMs containing waveforms.

Analog modeling would mean extra hardware. There's no unused hardware in the Juno-G to support such an effort and nowhere in the board to put it ...

I'm not sure how you fail to see that.

If you want Roland analog modeling for the Juno-G, it's called the SH-201.

Good luck with everything!

(This is the last time I'm chiming in on this subject ... )
