Hi there
Is there a way to use the Juno-G's patches via MIDI going into my PC DAW? By this I mean recording a performance to Sonar via MIDI but then accessing and then using 'any' of the Juno-G's patches to choose whatever sound I desire.
Or, do I have to purchase something like a Juno-G soft synth to do something like this?
It's just that I'm a little rusty for playing live stuff and recording via an audio track to my PC Daw.
Regards
Woody
MIDI to PC Daw using the Juno-G's patches?
Re: MIDI to PC Daw using the Juno-G's patches?
Yeah - with the Juno connected to the computer with the USB in Midi mode when you start Sonar the Juno-G should appear in the MIDI devices list (on the Options menu) so just choose it as a MIDI output, (and input as well if you want to record a MIDI part by playing the Juno).
It might only appear in the list after installing the Juno-G's MIDI drivers...have you done this yet?
Then on each MIDI track you can select the Juno G as it's output, and select the patch, etc. You can also download a instrument definition file which you can import so that you see the proper patch names and stuff in Sonar rather than just numbers...

Wow
Thanks for that Ian.
I have just downloaded the Juno-G INS file from the link inyour post. Is this the MIDI driver? If not, where would I find this?

Sorry - the link is for the instrument definition file so you can get the patch names, etc in Sonar.
The MIDI driver should be on a CD with the Juno-G but if you haven't got this I'm sure you can download it from somewhere...I'd try the download section on roland support?

Cheers Ian
Ah...so the MIDI drivers are on the same CD as the LIbrary software which came with the Juno-G?
Thanks again

yeah, I think so...there was two CDs - one was Sonar and I think everything else was on the other one.
Good luck!
