Re: BABY NEEDS TO LEARN 2 walk
<t>You mean you want to use the Fantom to control virtual instruments within your sequencer? Yes, use midi. You can either hook it up via USB from the Fantom, or if your soundcard has midi in and out then connect the midi out of the Fantom to the midi in of the soundcard and vice versa. <br/> <br/> ...

Re: Inquiry about future availability of SRX cards.
<t>i've bought quite a few off ebay, and there always seem to be some available. You might have to wait a few weeks for the particular one you want to come up. <br/> <br/> Also all my local music stores are still advertising them (at a pretty high price) so I expect they will be around for a while, ...

Re: srx-01?
SRX 01 is definitely worth buying if you like acoustic drum sounds. The sounds are lower in volume than on other SRX though which is annoying because you have to adjust volumes across your mix each time you use them.

Re: I just bought my brand new X7
<t>I had the same dilemma and went for the X7. It's been nearly a year since I got it, and I don't regret it one bit. Unless there's something on the G that you absolutely can't live without then go for the X. You can pick up SRX quite cheap, especially if you look 2nd hand on ebay. The X is in no w...

this has SRX 01,04,05 and 98 added to the patch banks, so you can select all of these plus the usual presets from within Cubase.

<r>A lot of the drums on '3' are him playing a real kit. You could probably dirty things up by using the 'lo-fi compression' effect, or some compression and distortion. <br/> <br/> This article in Sound on Sound might help - Adrian Utley explaining how he produced the album... <URL url="http://www.s...

Re: Roland vs. Korg reliability
I bought a Korg N5eX in 1999 and it was still working perfectly when I sold it last year to help pay for my Fantom. Mainly used in the studio but had played the odd gig with it as well.

Re: It it wise to leave the fantom on all day?
<t>I dunno Septimo, I think you can take a moral stance on wasting energy. Most people fall into one of two groups:<br/> <br/> Group a) Don't give a sh^t and don't make any effort to stop wasting stuff<br/> Group b) Are concerned, and do their best not to waste stuff, but ultimately won't do anythin...

Re: Using Cubase to choose the BANK for a patch
<t>Hi Jurgen<br/> <br/> You know when you select a patch from the menu on the left of the screen in cubase, it shows all the banks, which can be expanded to see the patches. But in my case the banks are just numbered 1 to 17, whereas I would like them to say "User Bank, Xp-A, Xp-B" etc etc. For some...

Re: Using Cubase to choose the BANK for a patch
<t>I use Cubase LE and the banks change ok - I generated the names using PatchGen, and imported using the method described above. If you need a script file then let me know and I will email it to you. <br/> <br/> For some reason though it won't let me label the Banks... it insists on labelling them ...
