Re: ADD ON REQUESTS FOR THE NEXT VERSION 1.6 OR 2.0

<t>One thing I forgot is loading in sample library's, at least the old industry standard stuff akai and roland's own. The new stuff like kontakt would be great, but I don't know if that's realistic though. <br/> <br/> Another Idea I thought of is allowing consecutive pad hits to trigger different ph...

Re: ADD ON REQUESTS FOR THE NEXT VERSION 1.6 OR 2.0

<t>Next update: <br/> Some means for the sequencer to operate more like a pattern sequencer. My idea is to allow markers to be triggered by continuous controllers, say for example marker 2 could be triggered via cc1 on midi channel 1. This would allow the user to create a phrase (a cc instead of a m...

Are people hating on the fantom?

<t>I've been going through posts and can't help but express my surprise at how this instrument is often perceived. It sounds strange, but it's almost as if people are hating on the fantom g, almost like one musician degrading another's musicianship because he may be more talented. Stranger still is ...

Re: Using PADs to control Ableton Live

<t>Make sure your phrases are triggering external midi, not just your keyboard. You will have to modify them to do this. On the song page load up your phrase, push song edit then push edit phrase and then push modify choose "change channel" from the list and change the channel to external, on whatev...

using a midi message to jump to a marker?

<t>Does anyone know if there is a way to assign a midi message like a continuous controller to a marker? The goal would be to use an external sequencer, midi device, or a pad on the fantom to jump to a marker in song mode. Something very simple I just discovered is the ability to bring up the marker...

Re: Using PADs to control Ableton Live

<t>I don't have Abletron Live so I can't give specific advice, but I recently had a similar question and someone posted a tip that will probably get you the result you are looking for, it's kind of a "hidden" feature. There isn't a dedicated external control pad mode, but the RPS mode is really powe...

keep rhythm pattern going after switching patches

<t>If one triggers a rhythm pattern from the pads and switches to the next patch (one live mode user patch to another) is there a means of keeping the pattern playing after the patch is switched (assuming the same rhythm pattern set is associated with both patches etc). I'd swear I was previously ab...

next OS, new pad modes

<t>Something I thought of a few days ago, a pad mode that's a similar idea to the current RPS concept, but instead of placing a phrase on a pad one would be able to place the measures between one marker and another of a specific song on a pad with the option to loop. This would create a simple means...

Re: Is there a way of linking a laptop upto my fantom g6 and

<t>Yes you can easily use your laptop as a VST host with your Fantom as the controller. Unlike some instruments with USB ports, the Fantom's USB port operates not only as a midi port, but also allows the instrument to function like a USB sound card for your laptop. The result is that you won't need ...

Re: Feature wishlist

<r>It's taken awhile but the OS is really coming along. We are still in need of octave/transpose for external midi channels. Strangely this is available on the external software but not the G itself. I'd like to see multiple pad modes (I think the X had this feature) for example four pads for rps, f...

Re: Wireless Mouse

<t>After trying a few different wireless units, i've gone back to a wired mouse as well, and for the same reason. The wireless units just slide right off because of the slope. I tried the mousepad with the handrest trick as well, but I'd really rather just have the mouse stay put, it still slides do...

Re: FG7 as a live Looper?!

I don't know of a way to really use the G as a live looper, but i'd love to see something like this included in a future O.S. Maybe through an additional pad mode that would allow assigning a phrase to a pad live on the spot.

Highlighted external channels live mode

<t>Someone may have already answered this but i've searched and can't find a solution. I'm using the G in a live setting in live mode with an external sound source ( in this case Kontakt on a laptop through usb) The problem i've encountered is that if I highlight an external midi channel, the sound ...

PDF files in the Fantom

<t>One of the more interesting features of the Fantom series I think is the ability to load text files for session notes etc. I was thinking, in a future o.s. why not expand that ability to loading PDF files? I think it could prove very useful, maybe even expanding beyond just the favorites text fil...

Re: wireless mouse o.s. 1.20

Thanks for the info. I like the looks of the VX Nano, especially the super small receiver; that makes one less cord or doggle hanging far out of the machine asking to be ripped out. I assume the scoll wheel works (up and down at least) as well as the left and right buttons?
