Re: Fantom G8 Rattles (Not Stop Button)
My G7 had a terrible rattle which ended up being the RAM expansion cover underneath. No amount of adjusting or tightening would get rid of it so I ended up putting pieces of tape around the edges of the cover - problem solved.

SH-201 Bass
<r>Simeon,<br/> <br/> Go to <URL url="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YALMNPCcaZ0">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YALMNPCcaZ0</URL> for an excellent video tutorial which was made by another forum member (appologies but I can't remember a name). MIDI Thru
<t>Simeon,<br/> <br/> Regarding your first question, the SH-201 does have a soft thru function you can turn on (see manual under MIDI parameters). This will route all of your incoming MIDI mesages to the MIDI out of the SH-201 along with those generated by the synth itself. Alternatively, a MIDI hub...

LevelView - Audio can definately be transmitted over USB (in both directions). You should not need to connect through an audio interface.

Extra MIDI I/O ports
Atlas5
"I still wish the Fantom G had multiple MIDI I/O ports, and I could drill the holes myself, then I let the Fantom G rule all my other keyboards"
Clever use of MIDI Thru / soft Thru (if available on your other boards) or a MIDI Hub would grant this wish.

Re: Unable to hear any sound in Cubase using "Asio for All"
<t>I have used both Acid Pro and Ableton (but not Cubase) to record incoming SH201 audio and enter MIDI notes with no special interface or cables required - just USB connection. <br/> <br/> The fact that you can trigger your VST's using the SH201 indicates to me that MIDI data is being received in C...

Re: Unable to hear any sound in Cubase using "Asio for All"
<t>The USB streamed audio from the SH201 does not need to be converted to be used by a DAW as it is already in digital format. Only things I can suggest checking is that the SH201 driver is correctly installed (dont be supprised if you have to re-install regularly, it can be quite tempremental) and ...

Update Possible?
<t>Can anyone confirm if the SH-201 has the ability to update OS. I was under the impression that the OS was in ROM and could not be overwritten. Would be excellent if I am wrong about this.<br/> <br/> rbarkhouse - for your mod lever, have you tried assigning different parameters. The depth when usi...

Master key shift
Try holding down cancel and pressing octave down - listed as Transpose Value in the manual but seems to be the same thing as key shift.

Re: G6 noisy keys
<t>I've also had keys make rattling noise when the board is not on a perfectly flat surface. Make sure the board is making good contact with your stand or desktop at all contact points as even a very small amount of movement is bad once you start hitting the keys harder. <br/> <br/> Additionaly, I h...

Re: Sensitivity
Velocity sensitivity for both cutoff and volume can be turned off on the SH-201. Hold down the cancel button and turn both the cutoff knob (in the filter section) and level knob (in the amp section) to minimum.

milonas,
Have a read of the QuickStart_E pdf file in the QuickStart folder on your CD. It tells you where the the plug in gets installed and how to use.

Re: Roland SH-201 & Live 7.01
<t>Tony,<br/> <br/> First thing I would do is check to see if you can turn off the MIDI soft thru in your software as it appears to be re-transmitting your MIDI messages. I say this because the SH-201 would not be playing any sound with the local switch turned off otherwise. <br/> <br/> If you can’t...

Re: Some Notes/Sounds Don't Play?
Artemiy,
As you stated softer playing produces a smooth note and harder playing staccato (for petite strings), but does your board also drop the note altogether if you play harder again?
