(a) It's not 2005
(b) If you need that much sequencing use a DAW
There are things the current sequencer is missing in regards to time signatures and editing but I think it's good enough, time moves on if anyone needs a linear sequencer then get a Korg.

Re: New Fantom USB - 3.0 or 2.0...?
USB 2.0 is more stable and backwards compatible than USB 3.0 (A reason most computer manufacturers have USB2.0 on their products). USB 3.0 also has more complex wiring (8 wires per port rather than 4 on USB 2.0), also with the exception of external storage USB3.0 isn't utilised for it's higher bandw...

Re: Should Roland add a linear Sequencer?
There are so many DAWS out there to record COMPLETE songs much better than sticking a Linear Sequencer in the Fantom. Things have moved on considerable since Korg introduced us to the Workstation with a linear sequencer and others followed. However it's why both Yamaha and Roland don;t see the need ...

Re: Anyone regretting about getting the XM over the X?
When the XM was first released (before the X came out), I didn't see it as anything but a synth with keys and strsight away after 5 mins of playing on one dismissed it as I really don't like mini keys. However i've come to look at the Xm as a module not a synth, it just so happens Roland put mini ke...

Re: Bug Fix Update V2.01
I never even noticed any bugs so for me V2.0 is ok in that respect, however the fact they bring out an update to fix 3 bugs that are not really major is a good thing.

Re: Workflows that could be tweaked
For me when selecting a waveform within the oscillator section you should be able to search rather than having to scroll through hundreds of waveforms in different sections that make no sense.

Re: OceanOfSaws Patch Re-Creation
My V Synth eventually gave up and i still didn’t get chance to recreate the patch Ocean Of Saws from version 2.0 of the factory presets. I did try and create it on my FA08 but could get it close and i’m not much of a synth programmer beyond tweaks to factory presets, any ideas?

Re: What’s coming next??
Mines already cancelled with the D50 and System 8 plugins in the bag. problem is you don’t get updates for the apps when your not subscribed i cancelled earlier in 2019 but needed to re subscribe to get catalina support which i think is wrong.

Re: To all FA users in the world !!!
There is a white version coming i’m told. The above list though would be impossible because the chipset in the FA isn’t powerful enough to add any of the new fantom features.

Re: critical os updates
If it had been my main premium board i would say it’s not sufficient. Rolands interface for managing files and patches has been crude and restrictive since the dawn of time. They always have promising ideas but never get the UI or software side of synths and workstations right. However i managed to ...

The fantoms have two zen-core CPUs currently they are only using one with the other designed for expansions so possibly other modelled synths.

A lot of those are old or been out for some time and the majority you don’t subscribe on.a monthly basis. Software as a service should support an OS on release it’s what you pay a subscription for.
