They gave up on it because all the baby boomers at Gear Space had nothing but negative opinions about it which readers believed and sales weren't going well for the JP80.

Re: When is Roland going to fix the Aftertouch on the FANTOM 8 instead of releasing updates to nickel and dime us with?
I love my Fantom 8 in terms of superior hardware not to mention all the software capabilities. The key bed is second to none. I use a Roland RPU 3 Pedal board. It has 3 x pedals and the middle peddle covers all the pressure sensitivity you want...in a way I'm glad the aftertouch doesn't work, I feel...

Re: Setting RPU-3 Pedals to match an acoustic piano?
Hello, yes, of course. I have 2 x RPU-3 Pedals ( 2nd one found very cheap and just bought it) I can't remember the CC's though for each pedal. Check Roland Support with Ed Diaz, he explains it in one of the videos...pedal connections. Sustain on the far right pedal should already be set. You need to...

Re: Fantom Polyphony vs Voices
Thus far no company has created a bullet proof unlimited polyphony synth or Workstation. I kill the polyphony on the Oasys, Kronos, Fantom 8, and my Jupiter 8 in seconds of playing full chordal passages. This is something that has bothered me for years on end. When will the day come when they come u...

Re: things are coming
I wish they would improve on the Polyphony at a later stage...I kill the polyphony with big chords in orchestral scenes. Notes dropping off is terrible for live performance even if it is in my music room playing for my own satisfaction and desire...

Re: Hammond Organ _ Update please
Cathedral Organ and other various Baroque Organs and Harpsichords would be welcomed. I believe Roland actually make a harpsichord the C30. Why not include it in the Fantom. Would be good if it came at a later date after all the current requests.

Re: Roadmap of updates needed
I bet If Korg release a new advanced and complete replacement of the Kronos with high end 'everything' at 2020 NAMM...you watch Roland defecate in their pantyhose and tell the world of their intended updates for the Fantom. Although, personally I don't believe Korg will release a replacement Kronos....

Re: Roadmap of updates needed
I agree with you. I'd like to see a road map and direction they are taking. I'm not purchasing anything till they convince me of updates they asked us to provide them. At least tell us what's do-able or not. Would have preferred this was called Fantom V at least that would have given us a sense of d...
