Re: NAMM 2013 Rumours - new Roland Workstation?
I think Quinnx is right. The Integra looks neat and there is a sonic improvement (there better be after 5 years) and there are a few "neat" features on the Jupiter/Integra series. But honestly, neither one is all that exciting or innovative and they are quite pricey as well. If Roland want...

Re: When will ROLAND release their next Workstation ?
@ Quinnx, I think most G owners frustrations come from simple bugs and features that *should* have been fixed before it came to market and the lack of support from Roland who seem to like to release great products and provide less than attentive customer support. It seemed like Roland put their fing...

Re: When will ROLAND release their next Workstation ?
The G really is an untapped beast and does so many things well. If Roland did a refresh of the G, fixed the bugs and programmed a few new banks of sounds, it could last until 2013. They might get me to upgrade to a G2 if they came out with a black one! The ARX technology was a great idea, but HORRIB...

Re: When will ROLAND release their next Workstation ?
Could be soon, could be never. Roland is doing a fire sale on the ARX boards, may they and their technology rest in peace. That and the lack of any update to the firmware of the G tells you all you need to know about how much longer they intend to support the G, which is a crime IMHO. It would be aw...

You don't abandon the knobs and sliders for the ipad, you use the ipad for the display and an additional input.

Re: Sequencer G vs X
If you like pattern mode on the X, the G does NOT have a workable equivalent. Yes they still use "patterns" but it's different. Phrases can function like pattern mode but just don't expect the same ease of creativity that the pattern mode gives you on the x. I used to really dislike the la...

Re: New Roland Workstation during (2011) ?
If Roland wanted to sell synths like hotcakes for years to come, THIS would be their model for a new an entire generation of synths: The "I-fantom" Partner with Apple to make the ipad2 or 3 their synth interface/display. Un-docked, have a Roland APP that would allow portable midi sequencin...

Re: so is G dead already or in agony?
Havent played the kronos but can't say I'm that impressed by the demos. It sounds like another run of the mill Korg to me. Nothing wrong with Korg's but they are too thin sounding for my tastes. The G has hands down the best action and weighted keys ive played.

Re: Double notes with Pro Tools
Yes it is. That makes no difference in the double note problem. It certainly disconnects the internal connection but the double notes remain.

Double notes with Pro Tools
<t>I'm trying to use Pro Tools as the master sequencer for a project I'm working on, but I can't seem to get the Fantom G to work correctly. <br/> <br/> I'm trying to use the external part of the FG to transmit midi data into PT and have PT use the fantom as a sound source. Playing works just fine. ...

Re: Possible to make Custom OS (3rd party "firmware"
<t>Just because Roland hasn't released any OS updates in 6 months does not mean that they have stopped working on the Fantom G development. It would be in Roland's best interest to release the firmware for open development because there are hardware geeks who may be able to add some features missing...

I've got several patches I wanted to upload to the archive but I'm not able to upload. Do I HAVE to include a sample for it to work?

Re: Why Roland did't put in Fantom G the GM Finger Bass(lege
<t>I sold my Fantom X to get a Fantom G. I recently borrowed a X7 to grab some older sequences and while I had it, I tried to program some of the sounds I had on the X. Generally speaking, the X does sound fuller, BUT, most of the sounds that i tried to duplicate I was able to reproduce on the G wit...

Thanks Dan. That seems kinda goofy that you cant inc/dec when the cursor is highlighted, but at least that works.
