Re: Fast Motion Video of Synth Rig Setup
Thanks, Andy. I used to carry more for a while. I used to control the RealLPC virtual guitar with an Axiom 49, but now I just use the Fantom X for that. I also used to carry a few more stands; now I just velcro a lot of the stuff to the 2 Apex stands. I do bring quite some extra stuff to every gig i...

God bless your soul! I only tried changing from External to Internal; why didn't I try All?
Thanks for the discovery!

Re: FG records all part groups when receiving MIDI from exte
Theoretically that would work. It doesn't. When you select a specific group, the Fantom G filters events that have ONLY that group assigned, bypassing any event with all groups assigned. In other words, if I select Internal, the Fantom will not copy any of my events, due to the fact that none of the...

Re: FG records all part groups when receiving MIDI from exte
You are correct about assigning the group in song mode, but since I'm sending MIDI data to the Fantom X, I have to keep it as Phrase.
Ideally, this would be a modify function, but that'll never happen. :(

Re: FG records all part groups when receiving MIDI from exte
I'M A GENIUS! I'M A GENIUS! OK, maybe not a genius, but right now I feel like one. Thanks to G-Man for the inspiration. A relatively easy way to keep only one part group and eliminate the rest is to save the phrase as SMF, which gives you the option to choose the part group to save (in my case, Inte...

Re: FG records all part groups when receiving MIDI from exte
Thanks. The problem is not with channels, but with groups. For example, one MIDI event for channel 1 will have all 4 groups assigned, and when I copy it I'm pretty sure it will keep all groups ( but i'll still try out of desperation). What I need is a way to extract only one group (internal), but it...

Re: FG records all part groups when receiving MIDI from exte
CRAP!!! I think I just found the answer I DID NOT WANT TO HEAR. http://forums.rolandclan.com/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=33231&p=206230&hilit=all+part+groups#p206230 Third post, by Apex. So, how in hell will I be able to thin out the part groups I don't need? The biggest problem is that, when p...

FG records all part groups when receiving MIDI from external
WHO ABOUT DOES PART GROUPS?!???!?!?!! Ok, on to serious business. I asked this same question back in 2008, and I don't think I ever figured it out. Now I am in need of an answer again. I have a few sequences in Ableton Live. Since Ableton Live only allows you to export each clip as MIDI (not the who...

Re: Note event on track X affected by program change on trac
Yup, my first song starts on measure 2, but I'm kinda limited with the next songs. :) I've choked synths before, but it usually takes a lot more than one or two program changes. Maybe I'll just switch to studio mode and be done with it. :)
