Re: SRX10 Brass Discussion - If Roland Did THIS, They Know H
<r>Yeah, I agree too, Parsifal - I remember the days of limited polyphony. The fetaures we have now ARE quite incredible and 16 effects channels on the G is impressive too. Roland seem to be investing heavily into modelling at the moment and I can only wish them well, but I just wonder when or even ...

Re: SRX10 Brass Discussion - If Roland Did THIS, They Know H
<t>Either way, I have to say I'm disappointed with the lack of improvement in wave samples. I had a JV-1010 and upgraded to a Fantom XR with some SRX cards. Alas, the best sounds for me (my preference is for natural "real" intrument sounds), are on the SRX cards that are collections of the old JV ca...

Re: Help with legato please
<t>You need to send pitch change messages to change the pitch of a note that's already playing. You will usually want to set the pitch bend range first, so near the start of the song, send an RPN message with MSB and LSB both = 0 (that selects Pitch bend range), then send a CC data message, CC6 for ...

(a) SRX cards waves take more space due to increased bit depth and/or sample rate?
(b) JV cards were 16MB, not 8MB?
(c) we're comparing compressed size to "equivalent" uncompressed size?
dunno

Re: SRX fight! :)
<t>Don't think either of these cards is sensational. SRX-03 is a mix of sounds allegedly recorded in a studio. Sounds more like they recorded some patches in a studio and not the real instruments, but nevertheless, some ok brass & bass and other sounds; but the electic guitars are awful imho.<br...

<r>yep, I'm still here<br/> <br/> Indeed, I have been generous with my own time and programming, and found both demand and expectations to be high. Re: Any computer programmers who know how to create an OS up
LOL Let me guess: You'd like that person to fix all the bugs, provide feature enhancements, while they're at it, speed up the file system, and provide ongoing support and future upgrades? Are you offering to pay for this, or hoping a frustrated and talented user will do this for nothing?

<t>I'm stunned you have a device that can't handle CC messages. Channel 16 is a good choice.<br/> <br/> You can code the...

Re: Tough MIDI question
I haven't tested it, but if you have MIDI THRU switched on, whatever arrrives at the MIDI IN should also be sent from the MIDI OUT. Of course, the Fantom has 2 sets of INs and OUTs (1 set via USB, the other via rear connectors), so have a look at the manual to see if it's possible.

Re: Fantom X6 not receiving Bank change messages from Cubase
I don't know Cubase, but sound modules should ignore bank change messages when in General MIDI mode. If something has set it in GM Mode, then you ned to send a GM Mode off message before you can start using bank chnage messages again.
Hope this helps,
Graeme

Re: SRX-07 worth buying for Juno G?
Maybe look at it this way: By the time you've scanned through hundreds of patches that are close but not quite "it" you could have stopped and tweaked one, and saved yourself some time, AND have a better patch

Re: SRX-07 worth buying for Juno G?
<t>I think it's just an issue of clarity on whether users are complaining about the quality of patches or waveforms.<br/> <br/> If people have a problem with the patches on a card, then no problem saying so. If, however, there's general agreement that the waveforms on a particular card suck, then no...
