Re: MC-808 Questions and Answers

Thanks so much

okay, so I guess I can't use any of that 120MB for samples. I just hope that I can build a rhythm set with samples from the card, like I can with samples from the user memory.

Take care,
Maat

sample memory/DIMM not working?

<t>Hello,<br/> <br/> Working with my 808 has been great, but alas I ran into another snag. I'm recording samples into my 808 when I get the message that the user/card area is full. I check the internal memory and the user area is indeed full, showing 0.0MB, but the sample memory still reads 120.2MB!...

Re: How do I sync Pro Tools/digi002 to MC-808?

<t>I'm giving up for now. <br/> <br/> I tried everything. It seems, from my understanding, that I may need what's called a "SYNC Perephrial" device, sold undoubtedly by degidesign, that will serve as the missing link needed to connect my daw to the 808. I also dont think the 808 is compatible with M...

Almost there!

<t>okay, I got that part down, kind of tricky, but I got it...<br/> <br/> So now the midi file is loaded into my daw. I am trying to use my mc-808 as a sound generator, and can't get it to work. This depends just as much as what I do from the daw side of things as it does from the 808 side. Dirk, I ...

Re: How do I sync Pro Tools/digi002 to MC-808?

that opens up a new question though. How do I export patterns as midi files? I've looked through all the manuals trying to find out how to do this - and I got zip. you da man!

muchas gracias,
Matt

Re: MC808 TR Sequencing

okay, I know how to do that. you just press shift+rec and you go into microscope mode. Then you can see velocity and gate values displayed on the led screen. use the cursor to toggle between them and the value dial to adjust.

How do I sync Pro Tools/digi002 to MC-808?

<t>I want to be able to sync up these two devices. Is is even possible? <br/> <br/> Ideally, I would like Pro Tools to tell the 808 when to start playback, or better yet, line up the playback exactly with the recording function in PT. I would also like Pro Tools to control the tempo across the board...

Re: MC-808 Questions and Answers

does anyone know if you can create custom rhythm sets with the 808? I mean assigning a drum sample to each of the 16 pads. I thought you could do that with the editor.

Thanks,
Maat

Arievilo,

Thanks for replying. Please, call Roland's support line and let them know you have a problem. They think I am the only one. We need new driver software, we need all around 808/G4 compatibility!

Re: Anyone with an MC-808 and a mac G4 please read

I believe it has to do with the driver software, not the editor software. Loading the driver software causes the Audio Midi Setup utility, which is unique to the macintosh platform, to give a disclaimer saying that it was unable to launch. It further explains that "improperly written MIDI drive...

Anyone with an MC-808 and a mac G4 please read

<t>Have you tried loading up the editor software for the MC-808 onto your G4? When I did so, I ran into a bug, probably in the driver software. I called Roland support and they tried duplicating my setup and got the same result. When I asked, I found out I was the only one who had reported this. I j...

You wouldn't happen to have the phone number would you? You said it;s free so it's probably an 800 number. I tried looking for it on their website but no luck. If you could - I owe you one

thanks again,

Mc-808 driver won't work for mac

<t>After installling the mc-808 driver, when I try opening Audio MIDI Setup (Applications/Utilities/Audio MIDI Setup), it says that a faulty driver is preventing it from opening. I've tried uninstall/reinstalling the driver to no avail. If I try opening the setup menu in the editor program, nothing ...
