Re: Loop/Locate always gets reset
If we're not missing something, then this is a pretty goofy bug. I would think that you could just set these values as semi-permanent song data, like Tempo. Tempo does not go away when you change menus. Also, if it was ordinary song data, then when you saved, the points would also get saved.

Loop/Locate always gets reset
<t>After setting the Locate points in Loop/Locate so I don't have to dial my life away, they will disappear if I go into Patch Edit or Pattern Edit. I haven't really figured out exactly what causes them to disappear but basically if I leave the Song Edit page there is a very good chance they will go...

Re: No more new workstations THE END
Quinnx - you will probably like the Access Virus. Very advanced operating system, when it works. Of course, the manual is incredibly short (not even MIDI info) and it can't do half of what the Fantom can, but they do update the OS quite regularly.

Re: Which is better? "Platinum Trax" or "Supreme Dance"?
<r>I think Supreme Dance is better. There are a lot of loops in Platinum Trax and they sound cool when you first get it. Then you realize these loops have been out there for years.<br/> <br/> Supreme Dance also has better drum kits in my opinion. Since this is an area where I think the Fantom is a b...

Re: Fantom versus MicroKorg
<t>I have both and they are like apples and laser beams. I love them both. The Fantom is the laser beam. As mentioned, it has a huge realm of possibilities with the sequencing and the sampling. Everyone knows the Fantom here so what about the MK?<br/> <br/> The MK is very portable and very analog-y....

Re: SysEx for Dummies
<t>OK - by doing this and tweaking I can see what the Fantom is transmitting. Spishak - I found it easiest to start with a temporary pattern with some tune playback data already in there and make one tweak per measure (or perhaps one tweak per beat for a slow BPM). I just take some notes about which...

SysEx for Dummies
<t>I want to change the amount of Patch Tone Random Pitch Depth via Sysex and am staring at p. 322 of the manual. It seems like the Offset Address information is the same in every section (i.e., 00 03 is for Random Pitch Depth, but above in Patch TMT 00 03 is for the Booster). I also see on Page 311...

Re: Patch sounds wrong in Performance mode
<t>I had the same problem but it was that each track in the Mixer can have the Cutoff set differently (who knew). What I needed to do was to go to the second set of mixer screens. Then, there is a button which shows the default settings of Cutoff and Resonance for each particular patch in that mixer...
