Guys, I've held on to the D-50 I got in 1988 - and I'm glad I did; there were a few times when I wasn't using it and nearly sold it.
Why don't you guys buy one off ebay? I see they are available for not ridiculous prices. Is it more a question of space?

That is extremely generous of you! Many many thanks. I'll pay for the ice.

Re: Scared!
<t>On the documentation front, I've decided this:<br/> I'm going to play around with the GT with no knowledge of sound synthesis and see what I come up with. Then, later, I'm going to buy the books you guys have recommended and dig deeper into the world of sound.<br/> <br/> Question now is, how do I...

Re: Does V-Synth GT have a firmware version number?
Artemio, just make sure she doesn't learn to use the volume knob! I am suffering from tinitus (constant ringing in my ears) from listening to my Walkman in the 80s too loudly. Take care of her pretty little eardrums!

Re: GT: is poly share across both tones?
That's fantastic news and not what I expected at all.
Re: Scared!
<t>Thanks to all of you for your comforting, motivating words. I shall shop around Amazon and read the reviews of the books you've recommended.<br/> <br/> Artemio, thanks again for mastering "Funeral" - it sounds great! When do you think version 3 of the Tweakbook will be out? Not for a long time?</t>
Scared!
<t>Hi All,<br/> <br/> So I've been waiting for my GT to arrive and it hasn't yet. In the meantime, I've been following all your postings. The more I read, the more I worry that the GT may be well beyond my capabilities. I've never programmed a patch before - I know nothing about the science of audio...

Re: V-SynthGT video
Thanks for the tip. I watched all the videos. Interesting stuff. The factory sounds do sound a bit crap, as I had read elsewhere. We'll see what I really think when mine arrives...

Re: V-Synth GT vs. 2 second hand V-Synths
<t>Hi everyone,<br/> <br/> I ordered a GT about a month ago; ETA is end of July. I am very excited! However, this will be my first stab at sound programming, so it's going to take me a long time to get anywhere.<br/> <br/> I doubt, as a GT owner, I will be able to give you any useful input regarding...

Re: V-Synth GT: what's the fuss about?
<t>I've just posted on two other threads - I've just joined - so I hope I'm not overdoing it, everyone...<br/> <br/> I haven't kept up with music technology over the last few years, so when I read about the GT last month, it was the first I'd heard of V-Synth.<br/> <br/> I'm sure I'll be blown away ...

<t>Milo said, "One of the good things of getting older is we DO become smarter (or less silly)."<br/> <br/> I was a '68 baby and I'm very much still a baby. Still, that's the way I was made, so I'm not going to fight it! I guess I must be a little smarter but, damn, I'm no less silly!<br/> <br/> Wel...

V-Synth GT on its way...
<t>Hi All,<br/> <br/> I feel incredibly lucky to be in the economic situation which allows me to buy one of these puppies.<br/> <br/> I haven't seen one and I haven't heard one but the moment I heard about these babies, I knew I had to have one. Why? I've bought two Roland flagships before: the D-50...
