Re: Fantom X as Masterkeyboard for softsynt
Yes. I have Sonar 8.5 on a PC, Fantom X connected via USB. You can play any softsynth in Sonar using the Fantom X via USB connection.

Re: (Hopefully) Back With A Question.
I really don't know about the XA but the Fantom X has audio inputs(1/4 inch) and 8 audio tracks. And of course the G has lots more. I would go to the Roland site and look for the specs on the XA, or google pictures of the XA to get a front and back look at the I/0 choices it gives you.

Re: Nylon guitar expansion now available for Fantom-S/Fantom
<t>I'm a guitarist first/keyboardist second, so I can say that I'm impressed with it and would recommend it, but the whole idea of sampling fret noise always bothered me. When I was taking guitar lessons I was constantly told that fret noise was a sign of poor playing and was as well taught methods ...

Re: Sonar X1 Producer
<t>My only gripe about Sonar 8.5 is that half the plug ins don't work with a 64 bit system. You have the option of installing both 32 bit and 64 bit(which I've done) but then that's just a bassackwards way of doing things. In order to use the 32 bit specific instruments/plugins, I have to freeze the...

Celemony Melodyne
<t>Does anybody here use Melodyne Studio or plug in? I just bought it, primarily for pitch correction and vocal harmony, but I'm interested in how other people use it. Not wanting to come off as an advertisement for the program, I'll leave it at that. For that matter, does anyone use any program for...

Question for Piaknowguy
<t>I'm asking you this question because I know(from visiting your website)that you have Sonar and the Fantom. <br/> I'm trying to figure out a workflow. I am impressed with your finished product so you are doing something right. This is sort of a broad question so I'll try to make it easy for you to...

Re: On the Run
I must have listened to Dark Side of the Moon more than a thousand times before I turned 18(I was the penultimate PF fan). It's a good job. I missed the "airport voice" or whatever it is in the original track, but still a very good job.

Re: Fantom X8 Is Digitized
<t>I have experienced the same problem. I believe that this is called "flamming." It is a sort of flanging effect that comes from doubled notes that are slightly delayed. When you use the Fantom with a computer based DAW, when you press a key on the keyboard of the Fantom, the sound generator is rec...

Re: Can anyone recommend firewire interfaces for PC
<t>Much thanks to everybody for the input. I considered everything you said in reference to my needs. I eventually decided on the Saffire Pro24 DSP, and have bought it, installed it, and it works like a charm. I was skeptical about the headphone mixing(I have nearfields anyway), but to my surprise, ...

Re: exporting audio tracks from Fantom X6 to Sonar
<t>Thanks for your reply, SkylineUK. <br/> I recorded audio into the Fantom because I can. There are those inputs in the back. I have a Roland VS880, and together with my interface and the X6 that's three pieces of equipment with SPDIF in and out. I'm just looking for new ways of doing things. Consi...

Re: Who can help me - patch "Arie Piano"
<t>I'm not sure what you're asking. Are you asking for the parameters as they are displayed on the Fantom X? <br/> Exactly what are you trying to do? If you are trying to emulate the Airie Piano patch from the X onto the G, I couldn't help you because I can give you the parameters of the effects and...

exporting audio tracks from Fantom X6 to Sonar
<t>I'm interested in how anyone using both Sonar and Fantom imports audio files back and forth between the two. I have a firewire audio/midi interface(Focusrite Pro 24 DSP) with SPDIF. <br/> My primary instrument is guitar, though I play keys as well. Basically I'm putting together tracks with vocal...

Is Roland Clan on Myspace?
I use my Facebook account mainly to communicate with my family. I signed up for a musicians account on Myspace because you can showcase your music there. I'm assuming there is no Roland Clan Myspace and I'm wondering why, if so?

Re: Roland Clan forums are back
<t>Thank you for your generosity, Vox. I consider the Roland Clan a valuable resource not only in terms of the information available but in the great bunch of people who contribute to it regularly. Maybe you can't teach the world to sing but you can teach it how to use Roland gear. God bless you and...
